All these things take a huge toll, the diabetes thing goes hand and hand with under active thoyrid, thats makes you letargic and contributes also to the hair loss, get a thoyrid function test done, if it is all you to do is start taking eltroxin. At least visit you gp and discuss it even talking can help. The worst thing anyone can tell you now is snap out of it, if only it was as simple as that. I am going thru a very bad patch myself at present but fighting it hard. keep talking it does help. I would also like to thank sargie for starting this thread well done m8.

i'll see if i can get tested then,it would explain the lack or energy and complete tiredness,so i can't even get a labouring job fss...stuck in a rut as they say...on the up side my dad said i can pay the rent on his card then pay it off when it's sorted, that's 1 thing off my mind.

seams i have taken this thread over, sorry sargie...hope you feel better soon

well done sargie for posting your feeling mate as a lot of people will just keep them to them self and bottle them up also most people will not post them as they are scared to say what they feel in case they sound weak but its the bigger man that talks out about how down they feel and i respect you for sharing it mate as there is been a few times i feel like that but scared to share it cause i dont know what response i would get but as i said mate you are a better man to share it rather than bottling it up and i hope you feel better about yourself with the replies you have been getting as this forum is a good family atmosphere and understand everyone's circumstances and feelings .

Still feel the same, infact im up and down like a yoyo.

Going to splurge on some fireworks later give me and the family something to look forward to. And theres nothing quite like blowing stuff up to lift your spirits.

Im going to go to the docs too, trouble is my gp is the take two paracetomols and come back in two weeks type. On a plus note both of my daughters have won 1st places in the local dance festival infact my eldest daughter got a 1st for her duo and for her solo. My youngest daughter got a 4th and a 1st.

Sargie mate, sorry to read about how you are feeling

Firstly, do you feel the same during the summer months ? I know the weather has an effect on everybody - but look back and think if you woke up in a good/happy mood ?

Meds are not the solution in most cases mate, all they tend to do is mask the issues - thus, they remain. Exercise is a very good suggestion, even just a brisk walk, time to chill etc...

Need any more info mate, give us a msg and will help where I can

Re: Do you ever feel down and out but don't really know why?

Right well i read up today on symptoms, Diabetes was a very real chance so i did some more research and decided to fast today for 8 hours. Ive been to boots and bought an accu chek compact plus. Felt dizzy and had blurred vision all day. The reading from the accu chek came out at 9.3 mmol which according to forums is way above fasting glucose levels. Ive just had my tea and im going to test again in 90 mins and before bed. Looks like i may have got to the bottom of things thanks to you guys.
