The Average british soldier

That was spot on.....
If it was 20 years ago...It could have been me........

class we im glad that some people still show the respect are soldiers (armed forces ) deserve.

that's was a great post mate ,every word in that video is true and sometimes we forget who is protecting us and i salute the soldiers who risk there lives to make our country safe people take everything for granted now a days but that video will show people why we take things for granted as there thousands of great men(soldiers) out protecting us and risking there lives for us and we think were hard done by its made me look at what really matters in life..thank you

I look at that and I see propaganda. Do we really need that to appreciate what our forces do? I certainly don't.

I have the utmost respect for our soldiers and would welcome any one of them into my house and give them food or clothing or shelter and give them the respect that they deserve.

/not to belittle our incredible armed forces, I also have great respect for the cleaners in work who clean up all the shite that I leave behind. I know it's on a different scale but I respect many people where most look down.

you have a point, but cleaners dont generally lay down their lifes to do their job?

and although both jobs are more thankless than they should be i personnally liked the video and though it to be a good tribute.

No, they don't but that's not the point I'm trying to make. This is probably the wrong place to post it as many will see it as a snub ( even though it's not ).

/The video was good but more suited towards Americans if you ask me.

fair enough. not sure on the american front though

different kettle of fish m8 ..for the cleaners to pick up all your shite why don't you just pick up your own shite as its shouldn't be left up to the cleaners if you have respect for them:proud:..cleaners or bank managers there no difference should be treated the same way and with the same respect i don't think the bank managers would pick up your shite so why should the cleaners, just trying to get a point over m8 please don't take offence

Americans tend to need things shown to them to reinforce themselves and their beliefs that what they are doing/what there country is doing is right/noble. I've always been brought up to be reserved.

Maybe that's a thing of the past, maybe we should celebrate things like the American's? I'm not comfortable showing my emotions like they do but I have great respect all the same.

there loads of the uk army out in the front lines mate risking there lives i agree the americans have triple our army out there but doesent mean they do a better job. and my respect goes out to all the guys and gals out there uk,,american and whoever else is there protecting there country

I'm too busy doing the fixing but I suppose I could pick up more. The cleaners could be made redundant I suppose but I'd still respect them.

cleaners or bank managers there no difference should be treated the same way

o.k. I fall down on that one. I don't have much respect for bank managers in general.

please don't take offence

I don't but I guess you did. Sorry.

I don't believe they do. American public tend to be more publicly sentimental than the Brits. My post had nothing to do with what you posted.

/I can see where this is going. people think I'm against the soldiers even though I'm not.

The video was fine but until recently you would only see that kind of thing for the American market. We are obviously becoming more and more Americanised. We'll be whooping at the slightest on t.v shows before long.

You say that you "value our forces" and it almost suggests that you think I don't. I offer them food shelter and respect, no one else here has done that and yet I'm coming across as the one who hates our armed forces?

Please people, read the thread again. I just think that the video is geared more towards an American audience. If I've not become so Americanised that I like this stuff then........

Sorry m8, that's a bit messed up but I take it that from me saying that I didn't like the vid as it was too Americanised and that I have great respect for our armed forces and I would welcome any one of them into my home for food shelter and respect that YOU have take it to mean that I hate the armed forces and have no respect for them?
