In limbo!
Has anyone been in morrisons and seen what they have on offer?

Lidl's are very cheap but look a bit pants, and im not impressed with asda's offers. Sainsburys are bogof but british standard which imo are not very good.

So anyone know of any offers about that are good?

Don't know, aldi have got them in this week as well.

Used to get mine from a guy who sold them out the back of a lorry with eastern european writing. But these days I just go to the local display.

Yeah we do displays aswell but i like a few in the garden with some burgers and hot dogs on the bbq.

i always stay away from supermarkets and the local paper shop that sells fireworks,

cause it seems all you get is crappy fountains that just fizzle give a bit of clour then go out lol....

i always look out for those shops that just open at this time of year and sell bigger display fireworks.

i bought one rocket once, it was so big it came on a tripod.

it went so high and gave the loudest bang ever lol...

and you can get those cakes too 500 shots, fantastic stuff

call me tight.... (sits and waits)..... but i'll just sit back on bf night and watch you lot burning your money and still seeing what you see lol.

i dont need to be the one that lights it to enjoy it ;)

Not tight :p

When I was in school I loved fireworks. I used to sit hanging out of my bedroom window during the week before Bonfire Night looking for them. I always nagged the folks to get me some, which they always did and I'd take them out of their box and find the best way to fit them in an old biscuit tin. I was obsessed with them.

We'd go to Pontypool park and watch the display and then get back home and let our own batch off. Did this for years right up until my late 20's. The last few years I've not really had the cash to spend on burning so only went to the park. This year I really don't care which is worrying because bonfire night was always special. One step bellow Christmas.

Am I getting old and losing the magic or tight like Thommo? ;)

ahhh but just seeing them is only half the excitement.

lighting them and wondering if one is going to fall over and when one does the running and taking cover is great :proud:

On boyfriend night i tend to just cuddle up to him, playing with fireworks is just too kinky sorry..

Ive got a guys number a few week back who had a firework shop.. give me his number and give me a major discount.. either that or go to firework shop.. forget the supermarkets.. theyre baby fireworks..

1000 shot Chinese firecracker is the business

I only ever go to displays, I don't mind paying £10 to go in, but spending a fortune on them is something i just can't let myself do, there are far more important things I can think to spend large sums of cash on.

ooh K, what he give you his number for, he want you to light his fire? ;)

I used to go to Heaton Park with the kids years ago when I lived in Manchester, it was always a good show.

Now we just watch the local one in Runcorn.

I saw some good stuff in Makro the other day though, and Bookers has some good ones, but you do need a trade card for both.

just got mine from a local warehouse store.Always good value for money,12 rockets a fiver bogof.

No im not "tight" never get fireworks, dont agree with them, saw one too many picture of a burnt Kid.

Don't want to spoil your fun on the 5th,but if you must play with "bombs" please take care and always supervise the kids

Lol im 29 years old my children do not go anywere near the fireworks so no need to worry.

We are going to a local theme park Pleasure island. They are operating rides, fireworks, food, entertainment etc on saturday so that should be good fun.

And im popping to lidl today were i will spend about £50 max that imo is not wasting money for somthing the whole family enjoys once a year. I waste far more money on booze and takeaways in a week than i spend on fireworks a year lol.

Personally, I too love fireworks.

This year we are having a "fireworks party" but on saturday rather than Friday. There is about 15 people coming and all chipping in to get a huge amount of fireworks from our local discount store. The store get the big ones in bulk order so these ain't gonna be no fizzle and puff.

Having plenty of beers etc., a beef stew and a red hot chilli to keep us warm.

Best of all is the "shooting" activity we have devised. Let off a chinese lantern and when it has floated just above the roof tops try to shoot it down with a small rocket, now that is fun!

Photos later, hopefully no injuries though lmao.

July the 4th is when fireworks can be used here but not everywhere. Some cities have banned them. Others have displays. The fireworks are pretty spectacular as you know what americans are like, want everything big!

I remember wearing warm clothing in the garden lighting up the fireworks for the kids.

Now it was wearing t-shirt and shorts.

The cities near me, the people don't let off fireworks in the garden, lots of people go onto the street. A lot use ladders and place the fireworks on that.
