Cheapest VOIP for 0845 Numbers?

sipgate
gradwell
vonage
voipcheap
voiopstunt

not sure on prices, company i do work for has just changed over to gradwell claiming they are the cheapest for him, but hes a small call center and has about 24pc`s / voip users.

get xlite 4.0 for software, probably the best, or you can download eyebeam from the usual places.

physical phone, i can recommend enough the siemens a580 dual (normal landline) and voip phone.

fantastic bit of kit, check amazon, both phone and extra receiver can be had for about £65 delivered-ish

Thanks for that mate, they look like they need a BT phoneline to work. Just after something like skype with that is cheap to call 0845 no's.

Cheers.

mate, you only need sign up for the service with them, they will then give you a username / password / sip address/server address etc etc.

you put these into your `softphone` (phone software) and as long as the pc or device your using it on has an internet connection off you go.

dont be put off by them wanting to sell you hardware, the only hardware you really need is a pc, mic, speakers, internet connection.

skype works on the same princiapl however they have a closed protocol , SIP is what everyother voip provider uses.

seriously, do a bit more reading on those sites buddy.......

Cheers mate, signed up for sipgate but can't get the settings to work on x-lite. I have checked on here:

https://secure.sipgate.co.uk/user/configreader.php?show_conf=x-lite4

But there is no pic so i cannot see where to put the info.

Any ideas?

lol , it was posted by me on hotuk deals and its sipgate ..........bad lamps or what buddy? :proud: must be getting old.

as for the settings, you must login to sipgate website then it will show you a picture of the settings page, just tried it myself, nothing there and it does say you must login to view this page.

really simple once done mate, the only possible trouble you may have is with your firewall but its doubtful.

away for a few hours now, but back in a while if your stuck post back i`ll help.

p.s.

wen you login the picture it show is the the actual details of your account, so just enter them in as they look exactly in th epicture.
