hmmm 900+ posts i dont reckon you would be removed do you ?

if that was a dig at oour changes then i dont appreciate the comment powerband, if that was a honest comment about wanting to still be a member then i appologise for my comment :)

No dig intended Mickie. No way.Just letting u know if I disappear why it happens.Changes or no changes I'm here for the duration.
And so far me system is holding its own so I hope (fingers crossed)its sorted that part of the problem out.Now I just got the other problems to do.

ok sorry powerband just looked that way a bit :)

It now fires up for a few minutes at a time at best so its still knackered.

It all started with the comp slowing down a bit. When I switched it on the desktop icons were basic icons then changed slowly to the icons they should be.Eventually it started slipping into sleep mode after being left untouched for a while but it wouldn't recover from sleep. Then finally yesterday it locked up during a game of COD.I switched it off at the mains and back on again but it failed to come on.It seemed to be asleep(fans all running etc but blank screen)After being switched off at the mains for the night and then speaking to LG i put a psu in it and switched it on.Seemed to be ok for a few hours then locked up again.switched it off at the mains for a couple of hours and eventually its running again. This is a very quick outline b4 the thing locks again.

have you changed the memory on it to see if that is causing the fault

After days of tinkering and getting mightely pi**ed off I think I may have solved the problem. The system has now been running for about 2 hours and playing COD for 1 and a half of those,so far not a hick-up.Thanx for any assistance (or offers of) and thanx LG although it wasn't the PSU.Cheers Neal for the loan of ur graphics card to try it out and it appears that was the cause.New graphics card tomorrow, any recomendations?

P.S yes I did try it MB wasn't ignoring u m8

if going for a nvidea go for the fx one not the mx..but on this subject before on here somewhere a lot went for the ati card..

it was not the graphics card powerband asked me to let u know,
at the moment he's formating a spare hd to see if that works.
think he's on the right track as when i was round there the
other day windows ran scandisc as soon as it started but it
would lock up before completing.
hopefully he will get to the root of the problem without
forking out money to an pc specialist.

mine was doing that all the time 2 weeks ago then bios warning that it was going to fail and it did so had to get a new one ..

think its the mobo and due to various other things it'll have to wait for a while. So I'll see u all when I get it sorted.Hopefully won't be too long but at least a few weeks.

Nap' PB's board is an Intel 850GB, I built it for him a couple of years back

Was having the same problem a few weeks ago changed motherboard and power supply everthing fine now. hope you get it sorted soon m8.
