does anyone how to change the rear brake light bulbs on a ford focus year 51, my friends car brake lights have gone and by looking at it, it appears that u would have to remove inner trim panels.....

when u say take the light out...do u mean like, the whole thing, or did u mean take the light bulb out..... cos when i looked behing the the actuall light itself, there was just the inner trim panel in front of it.....

u see. with my car the lights are above the bumper and u just pull the casing off and there u have access to the bulbs.

nope the focus needs to have the enire light taken out IIRC

rear focus lights pull all the way out, there attactched by 2 long screws which go through the bodywork to the inside of the car about the height the parcel shelf sits. in those panels there will be a couple of plastic plugs that pop out you undo the screws (plastic nuts iirc) from inside where these plugs where and then pull the whole light fitting from the outside. half a turn on the light housing releases the bulb holder. replace bulb replace light fittimg. done, 5 minute job.

edit: follow post above, step 2 is what your looking for to remove.

thanks guy's....that has really helped..... i did see a screw on the side of casing and there is a strange looking yellow twist head long screw either side of the inner boot, but i didn't think that u had to remove the whole unit to change the bulb....thanks
