Tracing My Old Landline Number?

How do i trace it,
i just remembered a number which i had until about 5 years ago when virgin gave me my new number.
i ahd it for like 30 years that number so i would like to see whats happened to it or is there any chance of me getting that number back?

The number might have been re-issued. Have you tried phoning it to see if anyone answers? (even if you withhold your number). Got to be worth asking if you can change it though if its not in use.
