i havent connected to the stream.Do i have to?????????????????????

just that i have never had to before with the others i have got.

also it stops at ap:52 but im sure this is as i havent got it connected to the stream

another thing is i havent disconnected the 202 chip yet and this is why i havent put it on the stream

mr p

you just go into eng menu the normal way by pressing and holding the up down arrow keys no need to press the reset button

You get into e.m by pressing and holding the up down arrow keys as dave_c says but you can let them go after boot shows on the led display.

finally got in eng menu and the netid id right for me lol no messin there the thing is can i take of the resistor nw as my netid is ok

then im going to make a card.

as long as net id and freq are right for ur area u should b fine to remove it

or just put it on stream with no card , just to see if it boots up fine then remove the resistor

ive put on stream and get the freeview channels i have also watched bbc on it so the frequency is correct and i knw the netid is as i have seen it on my screen and its the right one.

so i should be ok removing the resistor nw just worried it my wipe the settings

its better to use a noise blocker on these than removing resistors which can cause the box to reboot occasionally!

I was just about to get one from a vm engineer and he came back to me and said don't bother because the modded boxes won't be on for too long. All he said was they are using a new coding that will not be cracked (well thats what VM saying anyway) I've heard about them going down in Ireland but I didn't think it would be over here yet

I trust what he says as he is a family member but just passing on what I've heard

how do i know if the t/b is disconnected lads does it blink on the front of the box like the sammys im no good at soldering so i have knocked it off very carefully

I cant see Vm going down the N3 route anytime soon. It will cost them millions to implement - new firmware - new cards - etc... Things happening in Ireland bare no relation to whats happening here - they are a separate company altogether!!! Oh and engineers in general are the last ones to know anything !!

These same stories have been doing the rounds for a long time earthshayker and the "deadlines" have long been and gone and we are still here.

Best draw your own conclusions mate cos no-one knows anything for certain, especially an installer.

Thanks m8 I was looking at getting one but to pay £250 for a modded V+ only to get a few months use out of it was a bit crazy.

I'll sit tight on it for a while then see if the price comes down or I get it cheaper somewhere else

Thanks
