Hi
Ater a bit of decorating her indoors wants the VM telephone socket moved in the front room to another location further away but still in the same room. This will require the existing wire be disconnected from the two connectors at the point it comes into the room from outside and replaced by a longer piece of telephone cable which I'll buy, something like this:

I have found diagrams on how to rewire the phone socket using the new cable although noting the current layout would also do. It looks like I'll need to buy an insertion tool but that won't be a problem.
The question I have is what are the best connectors to use to join my new longer cable to the telephone cable that comes into the house/room? The connectors currently used are a style I've never seen before and don't know where I'd get them from. It looks like I may not be able to reuse them but even if I could I'd like to have some spares in case I break one of them and then be wthout a phone. Does anyone know what they are called so I know what to look/ask for? It's best if they match what VM use in case an engineer notices my DIY job on a future visit.

they are called jellys http://www.phonesockets.co.uk/shopping.php i think its a bit steep at this price though. send me a pm and i will send you some if you like. also dont bother with an insersion tool if your only doing one socket just hold the wire tight over slot in the phone socket and push the cable down on both sides this will still make the connection you need.
