Forum is a nightmare tonight :( think it started getting really bad from about 10.30
Dutcho thinks I've done something to his account lol maybe I would if the forum loaded for long enough ;)

True John, something seems to be afoot.

Unusually long loading times etc.

EDIT...seems ok now though.

i have had problems the last 3 nights if its server load shouldn't there be a limit on non members

I have made a complaint about this and they are working on fixing it.

Apparently its a routing issue, I just hope they fix it soon or we will need to move.

apprently mediafire has had some access issues as well.. so could be a bit more widespread as well

If anyone wants to help.

they can download winMTR

Download

its a ping vs traceroute program, its very useful for checking your ISP too... it will tell you where the issues of routing are!

if they could just log it for 5 minutes when its bad it would really help the hosts find the routing issues.

what do we do when the proggies running mick?

I was getting timeout issues at sw1.tc.lon.ovh.net and vss-5b-6k.fr.eu

this is what it says on mine...

Capture.JPG

dunno what it means right lol

the first are inside your network or rather virgins

the others will be hops/routers in between that have ICMP disabled, but you should be able to see other routers rbx-g2-a9.fr.eu > vss-5b-6k-fr-eu and the host ns22161.ovh.net

This is my last trace route when the site is working:

1 4 ms 5 ms 3 ms 192.168.0.254
2 * * * Request timed out.
3 12 ms 15 ms 13 ms 10.1.3.234
4 * * 19 ms 10.1.3.214
5 * * * Request timed out.
6 22 ms 24 ms 23 ms rbx-g2-a9.fr.eu [91.121.131.177]
7 25 ms * * vss-5b-6k.fr.eu [178.33.100.118]
8 24 ms 23 ms 24 ms ns222161.ovh.net [46.105.107.127]

sw1.tc.lon.ovh.net seems to drop in and out though at hop 5

keep it running buzzer while its timing out mate.... for about 5 mins then export it to html or text and post that file on here.

it will be very helpful so that they wont think its my route (saying its my connection that is the problem)

Regards
Mick

ok m8, i'leave it running,
when i notice the timouts, just give it 5 mins and export?

Yes mate.

WinMTR is a very useful program, an MTR is like a continuous ping/traceroute it keeps sending packets and logs the details.

also winMTR does not need to be installed its a very small program that you just run as you use it.

Download

if members could run it when it goes a little crackers that would be really helpful thanks.

Mick

You could also try f8lure Mick if you sign up

I actually think the issue is at SW1 though.

Sounds like it could be exos, however allot of routers wont respond to icmp if they have more important things to do and will time out.

But not sure?
