My motorised dish never really worked right, The pole is straight and level but it ran of past 5e, anyway recent strong winds upset things, I went up and the dish needed moved up a bit, Astra 2 perfect, Astra 1 perfect nothing else, so how do I go about fixing this right once and for all? I'm thinking dish dropped down a bit motor up higher?

you dont say what your equipment is but try these in structions for a TM setup and adjust for what you have.

When I set up my motorised dish, I pointed to 0 deg south as accurately as possible (using dishpointer) then drove it 1W then manually adjusted it until a strong signal, then drove it to 30W, checked signal and again manually adjusted slightly, then drove to 28.2E and adjusted for the north Beam, hopefully all the other satellites should fall into place, the best thing to do is to find out which satellite and/or beam is the weakest for you to receive and then drive the dish to that satellite and fine tune it for the best possible reception, all stronger satellites should then be okay.

Do ensure that your mounting hardware is 100% straight otherwise you won't have a hope in hell of picking up all the 'arc'.
