hi
newbie here but as its going to be my first box dont really want something to difficult to setup.
i have been searching the forums for a couple of weeks and still not sure which box to have.
have been wainting for my hub to be moved so iam ready to buy a box
after abit of thinking now the kind of box i,am looking for is ...
(the dish on my house is a sly dish thats the only one i,ll be using)
only going to be using one box in my house and one with HDD or one added later
one with support/on going
thx

What do you want to watch?? If you are only using Astra 2 via your Sky Dish then why not get a FreeSat branded box and enjoy the UK's free to air satellite TV with a nice EPG.
Alternatively you could subscribe to $ky and watch all their lovely expensive HD sports and movies.

If you are looking to buy a box to be a little more devious and watch $ky's lovely HD sports and movies without paying a hefty subscription, then there are loads of threads on here that may help. Try searching for CS

You won't get HD channels through your dish but SD is still there

all sly hd have gone but sd is fine for now but all could go in days, weeks years tbh no one realy can tell when. As for boxs do you want single or duel tuner so you can record 1 channel and watch another ? if so you should look at duel tuner box

Only want it mainly for footy

cheap motorised dish will get you a wealth of football and give you more options when uk sd does go eventually... iptv boxs are relient on stb/cards ect and are not the best picture quality from what ive seen although theres probably good quality ones around. maybe look at the mag250 or similar, regards mdt

Unfortunately satellite boxes and motorized dishes are fine if you follow the so called Sky 4 teams, you will always get a Man U or Chelsea game on satellite, I would look at a IPTV box if you want to follow all the Baggies games mate, the picture quality is very watchable, reminds me of the old ART and Digitalb quality.

Mag250 is a very good IPTV box or the DuneBox Dune HD T-102, they are a bit more expensive. Its worth using a pay subscription rather than just scanning for free stuff as the feeds are very unreliable and picture quality varies a lot.
NTV.MX have a good package including $kySports BT and Bein for about £15 a month including movies and catchup.

Many expats out here are using Danelca Box TV but a bit more expensive but more reliable on low bandwidth. Personally I still prefer a dish and receiver.... My internet in Spain is pants!!! 3G here is upto 5 times faster than my wired ADSL

Wouldn't a dream box do the job with TS media installed for streaming ?.....not sure if you can get a paid sub for iptv via dream box though

it depend on IPTV provider or your skills to find stream address from iptv and add it to box.

A mag 250 is the way to go if your looking for good Iptv services, they work well.
There are full HD packages out there with NBC, Thai(cth) for all EPL 3pm kick offs. Or you could use an enigma 2 box with ruya and run the same packages. Either way full HD on the cards!

You could run ruya on the enigma 2 box then add the magic and get the full HD package back.
