can anyone help me source a set of heavy duty t+k brackets for my 76mm pole. they need to be very heavy duty to carry my gibertini 1.25m dish, polar mount, actuator above the gutter. i will if it comes to it pay £150 to the superstore for their heavy duty set but id like to get them for less if possible but no one seems to make proper mounts anymore. doesnt have to be a uk source, regards mdt

i live in bolton m8. can you give me a price for 3 K brackets with 3 inch U bolts including shipping? isnt there bigger angle iron? basically im after 3 K brackets with a 12 inch stand-off twice the size of normal ones with 6 holes instead of 3 on each bracket and utilising something like 3 inch exhaust clamps. im not against paying for quality and was considering a visit to a local engineers/metalworks to have some made up. i like the fastening arrangement on the sat-super site but i think 10 holes per bracket is overkill not to mention their rip off prices. regards mdt

Re: heavy duty wall mount

thanks m8 but thats the same hisat who say the stab 120 will carry the gibby 1.25m dish without issue which is rubbish unless in a sheltered location. also i wouldnt give them any of my money again after the way they treated a good friend of mine over a faulty stab 120. i just want piece of mind and im willing to go more than needed to achieve this. my intention is to put the system up once and forget about it unless the jack arm or lnb goes. its not paying the big bucks for the superstore stuff its that they over charge as they know no one else does the good quality stuff so take the p*** imo, regards mdt

Re: heavy duty wall mount

If you have a local metal fabricating company it's worth paying them a visit and asking if they can make you what you want. I've had a few bits and pieces made by mine over the years and if they have the materials in stock like offcuts of angle or tube quite often it only costs the price of a box of teabags for them to make what I want. The only thing I don't get is a galvanised finished.

Re: heavy duty wall mount

I had purchased my Heavy Duty TK Brackets from a local supplier in Coventry called Max Buch (Cables) they offer a goods range and their prices are very cheap.
Not sure if they will send the out by courier but you could ask them. You should be able to google for their phone number.

Re: heavy duty wall mount

What was it installed on before

two 12 inch K,s and a T in the middle, 10ft scaff pole using a stab 120 motor but it didnt fill me with confidence and wasnt sturdy enough in heavy winds so i took it down and replaced it with my old TD110. i just want to put the dish on a 3m ,76mm pole with very strong brackets for piece of mind and its also got to carry the extra weight of polar mount and jack aswell. im going to go to a local fabricators to see if they can make me a set of 2 or preferably 3 K brackets. hopefully i can get all 3 for no more than £120. ive seen the exact type of K brackets i want on a local bookies in town carrying a 3m,76mm pole and andrew 90cm fixed dish. basically i just want to install a quality system once and leave it untill the once a year service. regards mdt

I'd love to know where those installers source their kit from, the bookies along the road from me has a 5m high reinforced 76mm ground post with a CM on top!

I thought it was just me that liked those, I remember a bookies in Manchester with 6m 3" pole on their sort of K like brackets with a Channel Master 90 on the end of it, quite a crude, heavy design tbh, they weigh a tonne, OK on a bookies or commercial premises, not sure everyone would like them on their house, I noticed they install the top anchor much further down from the top course of bricks which is probably as much down to the weight of the whole thing, you might want to make sure your bricks and mortar are OK. Much better for a 1.2 if not overkill, it's been 3" for 1.2s for a long time as a general guide, I've used up to 4 1.2", there's not many that can install a 1.2 on a 3m scaffold pole and it not end up like a flag in a gale.

Re: heavy duty wall mount

The 5m high ground post would be ideal here, my 1.2 is on a 3m scaf pole on the side of our bungalow to push out the Eastern horizon but it means I have to have another 3m pole clamped to it sitting on the ground to reduce the loading on the wall, it is however guyed in three spots to stop it moving in the wind. The whole thing is a PITA to align as it has to be set vertically then guyed, then rechecked making sure nothing has moved or distorted. Luckily I'm able to work on the dish from the shed roof which is the perfect height for lining it up but that ground post of theirs would look a lot better.

T&K's don't even compare to what David Craig sells, i get the majority of my stock from him,
Just a shame you don't live closer as trade price for item WW0123N comes in at £131:00 & i would have gladly helped

Another source i use is Techniserve he has a shop on the bay!
give him a bell he carries a large variety of brackets at reasonable prices (not all are on his bay shop),
Just remember you get what you pay for, if you want the best buy from David Craig imho

Re: heavy duty wall mount

who do those, where was the picture from, they look a lot better than standard T & Ks but I think those are 36" stand offs & U bolt slots for 2"

eurosat maybe? they are standard stuff which i dont want.... i guess its either get a set made or pay sss randsom charges, regards mdt

Re: heavy duty wall mount

found these by blake-uk but at £95 for a pair without p+p i think its looking like SSS mounts are the winner, regards mdt

if they were available in 12" 18" or 24" with 3" U bolts and not just standard 2" U bolts x 36" which are available in that design.

The SS A frame designs are bigger and heavier than the other designs, being made of flat plate, they are quite floppy until you bolt them on a wall if the bricks & mortar are solid enough and if you have enough room to fit them, then it's surprising how solid they go but I don't rate the single option with a 1.2 on, there's other much narrower A frame designs that have been about for years for this job, they've all got their good and bad points, another aspect is the pole, what it's made out of and how long it will be, especially from the top bracket plus the polarmount design, the Gibertini polarmounts are well made and nice to set up and work on, but they do stick out a lot more, much more than Channel Master polarmounts which are much more balanced and stable- very well designed for the action of the actuator at extremes of east & west and wind issues, although they only fit on the top of poles whereas the Gibis fit anywhere down a pole.
