The Keys posted here are for use in any receiver closed source or Linux Enigma1&2, obviously they have been edited into 16 digit format for ease of use on the Technomate range which have to be entered manually as you probably already know.

Same for the Linux side i just get hold of one of the many pre-prepared Softcam.key files for use inside /usr/keys folder with Mgcamd and CCcam

Maybe missing the point Ged, what opens with patch on TM may still need biss on linux etc maybe?

Yes,

What i was trying to say without upsetting anybody was that these keys are posted in the "European Satellite Chat" section and as such are not specifically for TM's,

So if you remove the ones that are in the patch then the Linuxs users would be missing out unless they know where else to look :)

My point being these are predominantly used for the TM series of receivers as they are missing for a Linux STB the CAID and channel ident so for the casual user who is not so called up on Biss keys probably thinks he can just copy and paste these in a Blank keyfile and they will not work.

So would it not be prudent to have 2 sets one for TM based series receivers and a more in detail one for Linux or just basically have a header saying that some 3rd party interaction is needed for these to work on Linux.

Tony, not missing the point mate there are keys on Linus Enigma2 that will work soley on there and not on TM or other clone based closed source receivers with OscamYmod

I made my point and i stand by it Keys should be checked by the individual posting them simple.

I disagree mate, these are as you say not necessarily in the exact format for Linux boxes, but anybody with half a brain should be able to use them,

My point, which I also stand by,is there are useful keys in there so don't delete them just because they are integrated into a TM patch, unless of course this was a TM specific thread :)

and just to reinforce the point, not only on tm either ;) i use them on another closed source box ie. spider  as well as my linux boxes.

And that is why i said TM and other cloned closed source based receivers whether its a spider,Clark-tech etc...

It is much easier & quicker to add Biss the these satellite receivers:-
TM5402HD & TM6900HD + other receivers using the CNDF file system in this series of receivers only require to fill in the 1st 2nd 3rd 5th 6th & 7th Check Digits as the (4th & 8th Check Digits are auto fill) the 2nd part of the Check Digit Biss code if required is auto filled,

+ several frequencies can share the same Biss Line & several different Biss codes on the same transponder are easily added to the Biss menu.

The same cannot be said fore these receivers:
With the TM5302HD / 5502HD, Spidebox HD 9000 series & Linux,

With these receivers you need to fill in all 8 or 16 Check Digits Biss code manually by sometimes add either frequency or transponder code & to assign a 2nd Biss channel to the same transponder you have to add a dummy frequency +/-4 to 5MHz that may work if you get the correct 1st line=(F 00081FFF 00) 2nd line (F 00081FFF 01) ect ect
