great work guys, havnt tested yet but i was wondering what happens with the regional channels once there is a new update, does this overwrite them then i would have to manually change them in dbedit anyway!

this will install the listings that Rat has setup m8, so if you want regional channels after updating, you would need to change to suit

but

ive found that its only really the regional news that different (from working all over england the last few months) whereas in wales, scotland and ireland, theres entirely different channels (Rte, S4C, STV, etc) instead of just regional variations

yeah i get what your saying digi, i was more thinking this could be good for a few of the people iv set boxes up for, as when the channel frequencies change they get on my case to go and update there bouquets for them, so this would be perfect for that, whereas i use rats bouquets on all my boxes but i edit it to suit my needs with channels i dont watch out of it and also add a couple like setanta into the sports section. will give it a go on 1 of my boxes anyway to test it!

imagine a box that could look for updates, and if it found one, install it all on its own, without you having to do anything to it other than press 'OK' on the remote to accept it...........

hmmm, hold on, im sure it was a simple 'channel updater' that started this all off on the TM800

OK guys...without sounding like a complete noob (which I'm not) I've owned a dreambox for years now but somehow always managed without having to use telnet so have no experience with it..In a nutshell how can I install rats installer in the easiest fashion possible...I have DCC and know that the telnet function is available on this but is there a way to install other than this..and more importantly a step by step how to...much appreciated
cheers.
Jim

conect dcc to your dream and then go to "packages" and then install package file (download it from the link) then upload it via DCC to your dreambox and restart....that should do it mate

if you have installed this, could you please un install it via your plugins menu and reinstall as per the first post.

theres no problem with the one you have installed, but a little section of code to count how many times the actual channel list is downloaded has been inserted :)
