Am having some problems with streaming from the db to the pc.
Am using VLC 0.8.6b.

Pressing the VLC button on the db web interface opens the VLC media player on the PC, but there is no picture or sound.

When checking the "statistics" under "stream and media info" I can see the stream coming in perfectly at 3-4MB/s. However the decoded blocks for video & audio is 0.

I presume it is a input codec issue of some sort. What am I doing wrong??

Well after a lot of tinkering, this is what I found out:

For example; streaming Travel&Adventure, this is the URI that was sent from the db to the VLC player:

http://<dreambox ip>:31339/0,0020,050b,05ab

Where 050b is the video pid.

HOWEVER, VLC chose to use pid=504 (under Navigation / Programme). Hence no picture.

When I manually changed to /Navigation/Programme=506 the picture came up beautifully.

What gives guys?????

Have you changed to the "old" tuner on your box? I couldn't get anything to stream over the network until I did that, now it works like a dream! Watched the whole of Highlander 2 on my PC last night from the Dreambox. Shame the film hasn't got any better!

Just tried. Got "no service found" error. I presume I have to do a re-scan again to make the "old" tuner work. And that I can't be arsed to honest. Maybe another day when I'm bored...

Thanks anyway :)
