Hey Guys nice image, only having one real problem with it at the mo.

I had recording set up on Gemini 2.80 and was working fine streaming it to my NAS drive, flashed the DW 1.6.5 and now when I record only a 1 or 2 mb file is created, when you try to watch it, blank screen.

It can play recorded programs that were made on Gem 2.80 perfectly, just can't seem to record.

Any idea?

Cheers

Have you tried changing the tuner driver from old to new, or the other way around?

No, will give it a try. It's set to alt at the moment.

Had mixed results when scanning channels with all them, just ended up sticking the services file from my gem 2.80 onto it and it worked.

Will try the change on the tuner driver.

Thanks

Changed it to the old tuner driver and the recording is working again.

Excellent thanks senor ding dong.

Cool. Could you do me a favor? Myself and quite a few other people have had some recording problems with the 1.62 image, and would be interested to see how this one does, particularly since it has NAS support, as I haven't been able to get mine to work with my current Neutrino image.

Would you mind running one or two of your recordings through MPEG2Repair to see if it picks up any issues?

It's generally a very handy tool to have on hand anyway.

I had exactly the same recording problems with the 1.6.5 image. I tried everything and after 2 days of frustration I eventually went back to 1.6.1 and now have recording to PC hard disk again.

I tried doing a recording the other night but it didn't work..... Trying again tonight with the old tuner and if all goes well I will report back with whatever mpeg2repair outputs ;)

I'm grabbing United 93 for a friend of mine so should be able to let you know how it all goes around 10:30 if I'm still up and all goes well.

:)

Sorry I didn't get back earlier peeps but had a hectic day. Here's what I get:

Just select audio Track 0002 or run without checking audio. Audio errors are extremely rare and don't affect playback, and you can still check for video errors after the error message you got.

The error log is 17.7MB! :FRIGHT:

Is there any part you wanted in perticular?

:)

EDIT: Just RAR'd it up, like I said been a hectic day...lol

Thanks, Monkey.

You've got 470 frames with errors, which is more or less in the range of what I have seen from most people with this image. It's quite a lot. It's about 3-4 corrupted frames a minute.

Would you mind replacing your mpeg2repair.ini with the one I have attached and trying again? It's in the MPEG2repair folder. It will cut out the irrelevant timestamp errors, make the txt file smaller, and give more detailed info on the video errors. I don't expect any huge surprises, but it would be interesting to have a closer look, if you haven't deleted the recording?

Thanks, it makes for some depressing reading. :)

Like I said, this is the same I have seen from most people using this image. Is your box a clone or original, btw?

If you want to have another go at recording the movie for your friend, I have found that DboxWinserver works fine with most Enigma images. Just setup Ngrab streaming and use the GGrab module in DboxWinserver. The Udrec module is my personal favorite, but for some reason it doesn't seem to work with all images.
