Hi there

Ive been chatting to rat about upgrading to a dm800se but I have never used one before and have no clue what to look out for when buying one.

I have seen a hd and a se version some with alps tunner, sim 2, sim 2.1, really dont know what im ment to look out for.

My supplier is asking for $140 inc delivery for dm800 se.

Can anyone advise on what too look out for or which one to buy maybe a better box for the same price don't mind if they are clones.

Many thanks

For that price it will be a clone originals go for around £400 the 800SE version does anyway, My personal view would be to get a Sim2 version has massive support and loads of different images, If i where to buy now i would be sorely tempted by the Sim 2.20 SE version with 1gb nandflash and 512mb Ram for around £40 more than the standard 800se.

Whichever version you choose you wont go without support for years to come unlike some receivers

Thanks digi247 for the response

Which would you buy the se with hdmi or the hd with dvi?

The price of the Version 2 800SE is not that far away from the solo2 clone price.

Ive no idea why sim2 have cloned the se V2 as the specs are so poor compared to a solo2 clone i can not see it been a big seller.

I would get the A8P sim myself then you can put on original images such as open pli and dont have to worry about patched images

And also OpenPLI have publicly announced they will not support Dream Multimedia products again so if you want anymore later PLI images then Sim2 is the way to go for Patched images anyway

Thanks for all the advice chaps but your confusing me (sorry )
My supplier only has the v2 which im assuming from the specs I got .

Its either a dreambox dm800se v2 or cloud ibox 3

Not a bad box at all the ibox 3.

Enough ram slightly faster cpu then the SE and obviously it comes with 3 tuners DVB/s/s2 tuner and a combo tuner incorporating DVB/T/T2 tuner and DVB/C.

You can get a twin DVBS/S2 tuner setup too, only downside i see is not been able to use a internal hdd .

I have been looking into these too and seem decent, only it is a shame that there only 1 USB too so if u want the wireless function you give up on the PVR option. wonder if USB splitter would work....

I think ill get one to play about with anyway

on the DM800se there are different type of sims: Sim2,Ferrari,A8P

the Sim2 has 2 variants: Sim2 2.10 and the newest Sim2 V2.20

This is the spec's of the dm800se my supplier has

. 1GB flash memory & 512 MB RAM ( A larger flash memory & fast speed )

2.motherboard REV E , (not D6 or D11 , now is E already .best than D )

3.Tuner : based with BCM4505 . or DVB-C DVB-T you can tell us . (original one, use in long term ..no need to worry tuner dead.)

4. Multi-colour OLED

5. sim2.2v2 (great sim card)

6. Enigma 2 ,Linux OS

7. Already for HbbTV and Web browser (like a iptv)

8. SSL88

9.HDTV satellite receiver with PVR recording via Estata or stata HDD (HDD not included)

10. 400MHz Processor

11.2x smart card reader

12.Color black & white are available

13. wifi optional

So I should avoid getting the dm800se and get the cloud ibox 3 its cheaper too is there much images and support available for them?

i was wrong about 1 USB as there is another one on the side so good to go with WIFI and external HDD on these Ibox, however i seen this on a website about the tuners.

Right now only S2+T2/C version in stock

For 2 S2 Tuner version , need to wait 25th/April

There is not an Enigma2 receiver available today that can Match the Clone 800se for image support, Saying that how many times are you going to change the image ideally you find one that you like set it up to your specification and then watch TV

They have 2 USB slots one on the rear one at the back

So whats the difference between the tuners?
Im bovered about recording really.

Will there be a image available for v2 dreambox soon?
