Hello guys not sure if anyone has experienced anything like this but I'll attempt to explain my findings...
Basically yesterday I changed tuner in my 800se clone to one of those triple tuners but once I'd installed the driver etc I restarted and noticed the box took ages to start up, I assume I had corrupted the image but I noticed a clicking noise, it sounded like a failing HDD and the box stuttered to start. it was also very sluggish operating menus and I was getting a lot of picture break up on even FTA channels, so I left it for a bit while I scratched my head and the clicking stopped and the box resumed its usual self. While viewing a sat channel I decided to access my recordings and mkv's on the HDD and everything loaded up fine. Thought to myself the hdd isnt suddenly dead then (it hadnt missed a beat before)
I later on had to restart enigma 2 and the clicking and sluggishness returned on startup and then went away again. I decided to test something, I flicked over to a cable channel and attempted to access my recordings again but this time the box lagged and clicked for ages again and I wasnt able to access anything on the hdd.
What I'm so far thinking is either theres some kind of driver issue trying to access the hdd while the cable tuner is active or the cable tuner uses more power and there isnt enough juice to get the hdd spinning. What do you guys think? I'm not going to put the hdd down as failing just yet as it was fine yesterday and is currently playing a hd recording from last night but could it be this power issue I was thinking? or are these clones all the same so it should be fine? When I get more time I'll back this image up and try something else but for now I want to pick your brains lol
