How do i set up Vonets VAP11G USB WiFi Bridge correctly?!

Got sorted. At it all weekend. If anyone needs help with vonets and routers give me a shout
I am still trying but no success. What am I doing wrong? I am trying to use a vonets with a thompson cable modem/wireless router. I can configure the vonets on my computers but when conect it on my duosat (a cable box that uses rj45) it does not pick up any IP, although DHCP is on! As I can use another vonets on a DVR, I think the problem is with my duosat spider connection.
Any help is appreciated.
Mario.

Yes i'd guess your right there Mario. If you have sucessfully set up another vonnet bridge on DVR i suspect the problem is with the cable box. Although i do find it unusual for you to have an ethernet port on a cable box? Is the port active (flashing lights at rj45 port on back of duobox)

doing my head in!!

got the Vonets VAP11G USB WiFi Bridge

hooked up to computer and inputted wifi details.

then hooked upto dm800hd and the vonets is flashing blue to say it is connected to my wifi network.

i go on network test on the dm800 and all is ticked except for ip address and nameserver....

what shall i do?

im getting angry with this damn thing!

cheers

This is a power problem via USB. I have the same problem, but resolved using a external power supply...

Configured the bridge with my netbook correctly (using USB power), but when connect VAP11G in my DVR all the leds go up okay, but the IP is not found in network. I have disconnect ONLY the USB conector of VAP11G from DVR and connect on netbook´s USB and the network IP of DVR is found in network! To resolve, I put a external power supply (5v) connecting directly on the power input of VAP11G, and not have used the USB plug. Works good.

Looks like that the USB port of DVR not supply the correct power, causing the problem with vonets. 5v is minimum voltage to work.

Hope that helped.

Sorry for my poor english language.
