Anyone heard of a black panther linux box?

Is Satfooldeals not a UK based supplier, so why would you get any import tax issues ?? Unless you are not UK based ?? Or he is a dropshipper and orders are shipped direct from China...

Jersey based and Vat registered.
He is not a dropshipper!
What he sells he has in stock inc the DM8000 clone.
Tax is inc.
He is very honest guy, good knowledge and excellent support.
Has his own forum.
He is well known in the Satelllite world.

he is not a dropshipper, he has the stock already in, and has been around the sat scene for a long long while, runs his own satforum like manic01 has said, and a very nice and reliable sat source for sat equipment, i would say the best sat shop around by far, and very quick too, and the bonus thing is, when u buy something and a big if, it was faulty, he would take it straight back and replace, or full refund, i am not part of the shop, but i want to put it straight he is a very nice guy,

so are these non linux boxes very much plug and play just upload cline and good to go or more complicated than this? i am tempted by this box still edging with the dm800hd though just now

Colin, if you are wanting a nice easy box which supports c-lines then have a look at the Spiderbox or even the MVision range, AFAIK Mvision and Spiderbox is exactly the same hardware but Mvision is cheaper as Darkman doesn't have his spunky fingers in the pie.

Spiderbox will accept c-lines and also comes with access to a cardshare server - which is shite anyway.

MVision, you need to add your own c-line.

Well the Spiderbox does get it's firmware updated quite often, they are constantly releasing new fixes to wee bugs here and there, but it's not as much 'hassle' as if it were a Linux box, they are more or less plug and play, very user friendly and they work well.

and the updates are just a case of drag a file across via ftp and run or more complex? im starting to sway towards this box now lol

Dead easy mate, IIRC all you do is copy the update file to a usb stick and plug it into the Spiderbox, then using the remote control you open the USB browser and select the update file....that's it.

Smashing box, but too simple imo.

ML 9700 is twin tuner ? very intresting considering these are 290 quid...cheapest twin tuner linux box i've ever seen...

- Any idea what the software is like ? does it support CCCAM etc ??

So it's a closed source Linux implementation by the sound of it...maybe not so good then unless it's well supported.

There have been a few firmware updates over the last Month, so they are working on it. It does have an online update facility as well (Like the BP). It does have CCcam although it's not a proper cccam, you can run as a client and you configure it on a USB stick. You can load the config files from the USB to the box or run on the USB (so it doesn't connect when the USB removed)

PQ is very good, just a bit too complex for me to sell I think - anyone want the sample for what I paid for it :)

I just bought this Medialink Black Panther HD, it work very nicely and the picture quality is also good.
The only thing i don't understand is how to put channel list in the box. I managed to get list from the box and saved on a USB but its not going into the box.
Any help will be much appreciated.

P.S. Tried spiderbox 7000 HD and 9000 HD, but i found those not very smooth when change channels. So trying Medialink now.
