I bought a new Techomate 2600 today and it's all installed nicely (cough).

I load up Black Hole 0.12 on my DM800 and go into the 'service searching' page in sertup.

I go into Tuner config and I select the satellites I want to scan and I chose DiSeqC 1.2, I then save changes and come out and then I tell it to Auto-Scan, but nothing happens. :err: - Dish doesn't move or even try to move.

Also, if I go into Positioner Setup and tell it to manually move the dish East or West or even to 0 degs, it does fook all, it just sites there.

If I go out to the motor/dish the green light is on and I can move the motor no problem using the button under it.

This is the first time I've used an E2 box, so hopefully I'm missing something, but from where I stand, this is yet another problem with my DM800.

So, can some kinds person please give me a step by step guide on how to setup a motor on an E2 image, preferable Nabolisat Black Hole. :)

Done all that mate :(

Black Hole 0.12 has a lot more options onscreen than that tutorial, but all the basic pointers are there and I've already done them.

I'm sure this is yet another fault with this box, main reason is, when I'm out in the garden with my sat meter, it squeals like a pig to tell me the satellite is in range, so I turn down the gain on the meter and fine tune the dish again and again. each time reducing the gain to ensure my signal is as strong as possible, once I'm happy I can't tweak it any further I go indoors and tell the DM800 to scan the satellite, and surprise surprise - the DM800 doesn't even see the satellite - even though my Sat meter is almost catching fire.

Have you tried going to tuner configuration and set configuration mode to simple and mode to positioner and put your long and lat in, save then go to service searching and choose sat finder option and see if it will lock onto a sat or change it to the sat your dish is on and see if it locks on.

Will try that jsut now mate.

Still doesn't explain why I can't send manual Diseqc commands to the motor though.

Have you tried to use USALS rather than DiSEqC 1.2, I know some motor/receiver combinations work better with one over the other. Have you tried to use a factory default image it could be the image you are using has issues with the hardware. Do you have a DiSEqC switch to hand so that you can test if the receiver is sending out DiSEqC commands correctly. All you need is one feed connected and see if it will switch. Hope this helps.

Set it up as simple Usals as above. I also have a DM800 with the same image and same motor and have to use usals but TBH its fantastic. The only glitch I have is the fact that I live at long 3.9xxx East but My usals only pics up my arc properly when I "pretend" to live at a 0.8xxx East location. I found this out by setting the usals up correctly an sending my dish to 13e when i noticed it was actually sitting at around 19e (Up the ladder view) so I thought ok I know it should be sitting at 16.9e (Up the ladder reading( when I send it to 13e and my loc is 3.9e so add the two together.....ect ect ect.

Just thought Id add that in as its something I came across and never did get to the bottom of why it happened....but I DO get my full arc and strong signals on most of the sats.

I also found that different Images do different things on the DM800....there are quite a few out there now and I even had Gemini 4.7 on there for a while - My abtual latest image on mine is "Dream Elite Black Hole 1.2.4 OE1.6 DM800 #75". I have found it to be fast and pretty stable. Also I haven't suffered from and glitching on any of the HD channels apart from ITVHD which for whatever reason shows me a full signal but without any sound lol.

Thanks guys.

It's not moving at all, any settings I make on the DM800 don't seem to be getting sent to the motor.

I'll turn the DM800 off and let it cool down, maybe it's all hot and bothered.

I'll try again in half an hour.

:)

If you've got a spare dm500 try use that to move the motor mate.

Enigma 2 is a pain.

Take the tuner out and then pop it back in while you waiting for it to cool down.

Enigma 2 is a pain.

Got my dm800 clone yesterday and I had some weird problems similar to yourself. I did find that it seemed to kick into life once I sent it the Catsyes E2 settings. Can't see why they need to change everything in the Enigma2 configuration.

When I first setup my dm800s with my motor i had the same problem mate. I was 100% sure my box or motor was fecked. I reset the motor rebooted the box. Made sure increased voltage is set to yes (mine would not work otherwise) and put the settings in on attached (had to blank out my location or you would be round for tea). The next day it started moving. Be patient m8, you will get there in the end

So much for my plans to try in half an hour.

The fecking thig would not switch on!

LMFAO, it took 50 MINUTES before it powered up.

Once I got power into it I just sat there in the corner rocking back and forth whispering the words '...flickster you bastard.....flickster you bastard....flickster you bastard...."

;)

I don't know how I managed it, but I got it to scan 13 east, I'll just leave it on there until I get my refund and buy a replacement box.

When i first got my dm800, it had motor probs. Used my old dm500 to power the motor! after hunting around, i read that it may be a psu issue. used the powe adapter from my dm500 on my 800 and presto... works a charm!

Just bought relatively recently a new 2A adapter for the dm800, and that works just as good. the psu i got with my clone was kack!!!
