Hi

Hoping someone can give me a hand with regards to debian server and CCcam.

I have installed VMware on my laptop using and the installed debian on VMware. I have found an automated script which ahs installed ftp etc on server.

All i need to do now is upload CCcam file to server. I have set static ip on my server debian. My laptop is connceted wirless to the net. How do i kow my linux server running on vmware is conected to net. I have tried to ftp to my server using filezilla but get connection timed out.

anyone know what setting to use for network adapter in vmware for debian server. is it bridged, private nat etc.

thanks

make sure ur vmware is bridged to the network adapter u use

and before u put the auto script on u could of checked in ur router what ip its given ur server as it would of shown up as a extra device

i have a linksy router running ddwrt
and what i had to do is run the debia and before i put the auto script on
i logged in the router and saw the extra device on my network

wrote the dhcp ip and mac down

then setted my router to give a static ip to that mac

then i entered the static ip from router in the debian server

leave the physical pc on dhcp

job done

Hi how cn you make sure the VMware is bridged to my wireless network adapter.

currently in the NAT settings of debian server i have selected bridged:directly connected to physical network. is this the right one.

In virtual network editior i have selected vmnet 0 and wirless network adapter as the external connection. shall I in NAT settings select custom virtual netork and select vmnert 0 for which in network editor i have slect bridged and my wirless adapter.

thanks

wondering if you can help me out succesfully bridged vmware to network adapter. i have got dhcp ip and also mac from router page. however stuck on option

then setted my router to give a static ip to that mac

how do i do this on router. I have got belkin router which settings do you have to go on.

thanks help appreciated

I have got my network settings sorted however having trouble uploading cccam.cfg file.

I have set up debain server (automated script) on vmware. I can connect via ftp. I am using filezilla. I have connected and transferred CCcam.cfg (this is the spellng) into emu/cccam and also var/etc. I have chmod 755 cccam file and cccam.x86. rebooted server saying cccam file not found any ideas why this and where am going wrong.

thanks

hi m8

i have added u to msn

see u on there
once we get u up and running then will update the thread as what was wrong

srp tools and srp update in a folder
use it to check what version smargo is

first all just wana thanks fes top man has helped me out a lot. having problems trying to get sly card to read in smargo.

I have ran srp tools (to find out version of smargo result is as follows

smartreader + version 1.3
mode autoswitch
freq3.69 MHz
kernelnormal
t_mode t=0
egt 0

u need to set kernal to dreambox mode and it should work

and please do not update the smargo !

hi

got it working last night was up half the night figuring it out dunno whether the smargo is in normal or dreambox mode. I have set in cccam.cfg the location of smartreader and also frequency. Can anyone tell me what the best frequency is to run the crd as I have seen alot of mixed reviews everywhere.

Also I have set up a dyndns. this is set to my public ip. How do i set for the IP for debian server in vmware.

Currently I have not tested server on client and am hoping to test on a dreambox tonight after work to see it picks channels.

is there anything else on server that i need to configure any other script that need to be added or un before testing crd

Also I have set up a dyndns. this is set to my public ip. How do i set for the IP for debian server in vmware.

You dont need to, providing the vmware server is running on the computer whose ip you have setup already in dyndns.

u got it hooked up to ur router if so
all u need to do is forward the server listen port to the server ip
then its dyndns.biz:serverport

easy

so now ur card is beng detected in cccaminfo??

card is being detected in cccamphpinfo dunno whether the settings are correct ecm times ect still alot to learn. however got dm connected as client but sport and movies are not working the enterntainement i.e sly 1,2,3 work etc but no movies and sports any ideas why this is

thanks

Hi guys

Finally got it working up and running all channels. One question I am currently using smargo in my debian server. I ahve set clock frequency of 3570000 in my cccam file and getting ecm time 0.140. Is this o.k Also when running smartreader.exe. My settings for smargo are

Mode = autoswitch
Kernel = normal
t-mode = t=0
egt 0

Is there anything i need to change here or do I keep it same. In kernel you have option of dreambox mode what is this for. And also in mode you have fixed any difference between autoswitch and fixed.

Thanks

right will change into dreambox mode. I am trying to get inadyn install on the server. I have installed inadyn but cant seem to configure it.

For useradd this is the command but what do i enter dont understand it(for debian use useradd -r dyndns)

to tell u the truth
i have my server hooked up to my home network sharing my modem

all i did was use 1 of my dm500s client box that i have in 1 room to update ip address with inadyn every 5 hours

u dont have to have it on server unless ur running server in a different house or on a seperate modem

if its running on ur own network just use 1 of ur boxs to update ip
