Hello

I am running blackhole12 (I think)
I have a Clone DM800 (Which is great)

I connected a 120gb IDE drive via a nas caddy, but it is simply connected via USB.

I initilized and can record/ live pause on it no problems.

The issue I have is every day I go to check what is on the drive and it is showing nothing, live pause does not work also.

It appears to do this when it goes into standby.

To get it back to life, I have to do a filesystem check on it and then it is fine until it shuts down.

I am assuming it is the external box I am using????

I am about to buy a internal 320gb sata and hope not to have this problem with this.

It is a common problem and does anyone else have this issue with internal sata drives??

Thanks in advance.

I found an issue with my setup which may or may not be helpful, I was using a Kingston USB memory stick, which I was planning to use for the picon files, and a 250gb USB hard drive for extra storage.

Using DCC I could see the memory stick, but did not seem to be available as a mount.

It turns out, the USB stick was not being recognised by the DM800, and data was being saved to the symbolic link on the flash, which basically filled up the memory, and stopped the box from booting altogether :)

Removing and discarding the USB stick has cured my problems altogether.

Check that your USB stick is actually recognised by the box, it may be the source of your problem?
