can any one tell me how to get rid of the black band top and bottom of screen

Depends if the format of what your watching is in that aspect ratio or not.

You can play around with the aspect ratio setting in Menu-setup-AV settings

I set my dm to just scale on 5:3 and 18:9

tied it stays the same thanks

I set my dm to just scale on 4:3 and 16:9 dont know what happen to the above hehe if its a movie with the top and bottom bars thats the ratio that the movie was broadcast in if you start zooming in u loose part of the picture. I also select just scale on my tv too
