HELP setting up 800HD with E-Star Sim

Hi all,

I have recently bought a Clone Dreambox 800 HD PVR which I am trying to set up a cline. I have an Estar sim and have just flashed the image from the estar website.

Do you know if it is possible to manual enter the information with this box (I have a Blade 7000s before which i could)? If so do I need a different image?

No you have to edit the CCcam.cfg if thats the emu you have installed.This has to be done via FTP no other method.

You find that in the etc folder

Thank you for your reply. I dont have a CCcam file from my provider. is there anywhere I can download one and edit with my details?

What image are you on ?

I have managed to make a CCcam file and moved it via FTP. Is there anything else I need to do to actually connect now?

I have flashed the image from the Estar website.

what image you using have you installed a cam like cccam 2.3.0 and then ftp your CCcam.cfg

Ermm, no havent installed anything like that.

I am really basic on this and struggling a bit. Not sure if I need to factory reset and start from scratch again.

Do you have any recommendations what to flash on to the box bearing in mind I have an e-star sim? or am I best changing my sim?

When you download the image, it will have a name. Just post what that name is.

To simplify things, consider there being two aspects of CCcam.
1. The program and starting of it. You normally install it by the image feeds/ipk
2. The config file that has deatisl of the card your are reading. You either nbeed to edit the xisting file with teh details you have or just replace it with the file you have. The file is called CCcam.cfg. It is located in /etc/ for amlost all images. On openATV images it is /usr/keys/

Hi all, sorry the thread has been abandoned for a few days, I havent had chance to play about with it for a few days.

I have decided to change my sim from the estar to a 2.1. first of all i simply changed the sim but when I tried to reboot to flash the new image straight away I got the No CA error. I have now changed the sim back the the Estar and now all seems back to normal.

Therefore do i have to flash with the new 2.1 image with the estar sim inserted and then change the sim to the 2.1?? I dont want to just do this as last time I flashed with the 2.1 image (with the estar sim inserted) i got the No CA error and had a nightmare sorting it out.

Any advise will be greatly appreciated

Whichever way you do it, image/bootloader must match sim card to be used.

The way people do is while it is in a working state, you flash the image/bootloader for intended sim. After this, if you reboot with current sim, you will get the no ca issue, to be expected as there is a mismatch. Change the sim and reboot, it will work as the mismatch no longer applies. Thsi is preferred way of doing it as you can flash using web browser while in a functional state.

If you change sim first, receiver won't work until you flash correct image/bootloader.

Sim swap is carried out like this

With the Estar sim still in place flash a sim2.1 image.
Do NOT reboot kill the power.
Swap the sim for your sim 2.1
Now power on the box.

Now becuase you did not do this you may still have the no ca error but do the above and we will go from there.

Thanks for the info. Right I have managed to flash my Cobra image. I just cannot set up my Cline. Whenever I go into the DCC, when clicking the FTP tab, nothing shows up in the left column. It just states 'FTP component not ready'

Is there any other way to connec?

I guess you have the ip or ftp login details wrong.

You could try another FTP program such as Filezilla

OK for my next stage. Sorry but I havent got a clue what to do with this box but I think Im getting there.....

I have a Newcamd file from my provider. I have put this into the Keys folder however still dont get all channels. All free to air channels work fine however the Pay channels say "Tune Failed"

Is my problem somewhere in the SoftCam? I have this set to MgCamd and pressed restart Softcam. Am I seriously missing something out here? is it possible my Newcamd file is in a wrong format or sequence? the file is set up like this:-

CWS_KEEPALIVE = 60
CWS = *server* *PORT* *ID* *Password* 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14 lan server1

Note I have deleted some info as I am not sure what is safe to put out to the general public.

Sorry if I seem really daft, but I am really struggling and ready to throw the box out of the window!!!

Scrap that last one, I am definitely getting somewhere. I have managed to put the NewCamd file in the Keys folder.

I must be doing something right because I do have some channels. Fortunately or unfortunately (as I think the missus would say) it only seems to be the Porn channels that work. I get the Server info in the information box too on these channels.


However for example on the sports channels, I still get the server info in the Channel info box but no picture and it says tune failed. some channels say " Service not Found, SID not in PAT" with no picture.


Could this be because I have flashed with the 4a and not 4b? the reason I have 4 a is because when I have tried the 4b, it becomes stuck in the rebooting page. I have left it for about half an hour but it doesnt seem to finish. therefore the 4a is the only one I can seem to use.


Or could it be due to an old channel listing?
