Just out of curiosity, I wondered if anyone else had any issues with the web interface?

It works fine if I use the vanilla installation, but when it gets "updated" as part of the packages then it simply no longer allows me access and I have to remove it and re-install the base package.

Anyone else get this?

I'm using the OpenPLI image updated to the latest.

If you update to the latest then it won't work if your using a clone as it has a genuine dreambox check.
It should state in the plugins download list use old webinterface to get around license issues, so if you put on the latest then you won't get around the license issues so it won't work.
I wasn't aware that the latest pli 2.1 had a plugins feed yet ?
Or do you mean pli 2.0 updated ?
Bottom line is the latest won't work on a clone, have you tried the e2openplugin webif that is quite neat and doesn't care about clones :)

I'm using 2.1, but it just goes through the motions of telling me i have x updates to apply, so i have, then it stops working.

Thanks ellie. I will try that

P.S can you delete the other thread please, I appear to have posted twice.

Tried OpenWebif, dropped the plugin folder into /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions

ran opkg install python-cheetah and opkg install python-pprint from a telnet session....

and...nothing, doesn't even show up as installed.

Even tried to run the tar file and install the package via the interface, still do dice.

Am I missing something else.

put the e2openwebif .ipk file into the tmp folder then from the box
menu
setup
software management
install local extension
select /tmp
hit ok to put a tick then green to install the plugin.

Isn't the e2openwebif in the plugins download section ?
