Dm800 wont boot up

My mate got a 800 clone from china, came with gemini image on and he has tried to stick a Pli image one but couldnt do it so gave it to me..

Dont know what he's done but it doesnt boot up, the box powers on and DReam Multimedia comes on the lcd and stays like that.. I've never flashed a 800 before only 500s so not sure what to do? I have a null modem cable, can I use dreamup to flash? I cant ftp to the box..

Use Dreamup to re flash with a clone friendly image.I have attached a patched version of Dreamup which takes a few minutes rather than the hour it usually takes.

Which sim card has it got by the way?

Thanks mate, will have a go of that! Dont know sim is in it, I took the lid of earlier but it had a security type sticker over it.. Not the easiest thing to get at either lol..

Edit: I guess I need to know what the sim is before I download an image?? The box is the newer all black one

Yeah,it's best to know what sim is in the box so you can download the correct bootloader/image for it.Usually there's a sticker on the underside of the box saying which sim card is in it

Thanks mate, theres nothing on the bottom, just a dream sticker and a model stciker with the serial no. and mac on.. Just took the sim card out and all it has on it is YS02 1342 on it??

Thanks for the help and the link! Looks like one of those sim1 T3's, just a different number on the end.. Will try a sim 1 image, cant cock it anymore up lol!!

I had exactly the same issue trying to flash with the PLi image and thought I'd bricked the box but was able to get it going again once it had the correct image for my sim.

Got it going with a Blackhole image!! It still took just over an hour to flash but it its just got to the setup stage now..
