DM800 HD CLONE BL #72 Sim 2.01 Nabilo Sat Black Hole V 0.12 > UPDATE BL & IMage

Hey guys,

I'm new here and trying to update my old DB.

Specs are :

DM800 HD CLONE BL #72 Sim 2.01 Nabilo Sat Black Hole V 0.12 with internal HDD

I know BL is OLD but from what i read since i have 2.01 sim i could go to BL 84. Is that true? >> Bobby123 confirmed i should be able to upgrade but no success so far.

I tried flashing via webinterface in DHCP via network cable connected to Router: sim201_ssl84b but clicking flash button and nothing happens. I tried chrome, firefox & IE

I'm clueless what to do? Do i need to flash a secondstage file before?

would think it should work but maybe not

could maybe try in stages say upgrade to 76 then into the 80s

Thanks I confirm that's what i read here in the forums and attempted to do.

I first try to flash sim201_ssl84b.nfi file is 171Kb but it is not flashing. I tried with 3 webbrowsers and two computers. No success i remain on #72 I also tried redownloading the nfi file. No change

Yes i'm putting my DB in flashmode it says STOP & IP address then i connect to webbrowser..... select NFI and click flash

Thanks Alimac. I agree with you and was just searching for a compatible 76 bootloader. I did not find... Do you mind pointing me to one please. TY

you can upgade with serial with dreamup to update the ssl to 84b and then restart with network mode to update your image

Thanks. This is my last resort option since i understand it involves buying a special cable. Could you point me to the type of gear i need to purchase?
I'm still flumixed by the fact that flashing through webbrowser is not working.

will stick bootloader 76d in downloads if you want to try it

but as bobby123 says above mate dreamup maybe best way

Thanks Alimac will give it a shot with 76d and wait until i can download here.

Quick note to indicate i solved all flashing issue with the NULL Modem Cable bought this morning and fortunately i still had that old PC in the garage

By using DreamUp all went very smoothly. Now on #84 and using OpenPli 3.0 & working on getting CrossEpg to work.

OpenPli is very FAST compared to DreamElite which i used before but was lagging.

Bottom line: all Dreambox user should have a nullmodem cable and an old PC in case NO CA error is happening like me.
