Only recieving 175 channel from Astra 1N/2A/2B @ 28.2° East

Hi,
I recently got a dreambox dm800 clone and when I do a automatic scan I only picking up 175 channels from the 28.2e. When I manual enter in the transponder values of the channels manually I still don't recieve a signal. Would anybody know what the problem may be.

Have you done any fault-finding experiments? First port of call would be to substitute box with a known-good one- even an old Sky Digibox. That would immediately determine whether it's a box or dish/cable/LNB issue.

Try that first & let us know what happens.

Thanks for the reply. I have tried the dreambox on my sister sky dish and still only received 175 channels there as well.

Assuming you've not altered any of the LNB setting in the menu, then it sounds like you have a faulty box. Try restoring factory settings & try another scan. Did you buy it from a reputable source?

You need to update the satellite.xml file, download a fresh one and put in the tmp folder.

I was thinking that myself that it is a fault box. I hope they are a reputable source. I Have sent them an email and hopefully I should be sorted in a week or so.

Download a fresh copy at satellites.xml creator and ftp the. xml file to etc/tuxbox and reboot the box after reboot scan again. 99.9% sure it will solve ur problem mate.

Tried using your satellite.xml file. Still only getting 175 channels. It probably a problem with the tuner. I also have a problem when I manually search. I have a post about it here Geting wrong channel list from transponer.

Have you checked tuner settings so it scans both DVB-S and DVB-S2?

I getting some HD channel so DVB-S2 most be getting scanned. Where in tuner setting can I confirm that both are getting scanned. Thanks for your input.

I think it is in the tuner setup, change from simple to advanced and you should be able to see it in the tuner configuration

I am getting a combination of DVB_S AND dvb-s2 channels.

Could be a faulty tuner. Have u tried flashing a new image?

I have tried a few images.

Then it might be the tuner. Is it a org box or clone? If its a original dreambox a new tuner is cheap and easy to get and change.

It a clone. Only brough the box a few weeks ago so should get a replacement.
