hi all, whats the score with overclocking when using cccam with oscam as the reader?

default in oscam.server is set to mhz = 357

ive read hashing this out will let oscam sort the ECM times out it self - does it really work?

other forms say mhz 1000 or 600

what ECMs timing are you guys getting with oscam?

thanks

think that if you are using oscam to read the card you need to edit the server file in var.tuxbox config cardmhz = 600
mhz = 600
someone will be along to say for sure

On a Dm500 I have set mhz = 357 and cardmhz = 357
but I notice in the log file it says

Maximum frequency for this card is formally 5 Mhz, clocking it to 5.00 Mhz
It doesnt seem to change from the maximum .
It reads the card fine but I am wondering if it could get burnt out in the long run ?

Mines been running like that for 2 years mate and not burnt yet :)

Taken from the Oscam Wiki ...

For Dreambox and other internal readers the highest possible clock rate will be auto detected. The mhz parameter lets you override the values chosen by OSCam, if it differs from 357 and 358, but usually you will not set any value for mhz.

For certain Dreamboxes (especially PPC clones) the default mhz parameter leads to slow ECM times and/or "not found" ECMs. By setting mhz to values like 200, 300, 400, ... 1600, you can find a value that works for your receiver and your card. The higher themhz value, the slower the ECM time (strange enough).

If you choose the value too low, your card is not recognized (no ATR or card not supported). If you choose the value too high, you get slow ECM times. Our experience is that either no mhz line, or a line mhz = 1000 works best.

do you have mhz = 357 and cardmhz = 357 hashed out mate?

from my testing it runs best with these entries removed and it defaults to 5 Mhz

No,I have them enabled.
I have both set as 357 in my oscam.server file.
However when I check the reader config in the Oscam webinfo, Mhz is set as 500 and CardMhz is set as 357 ,which seems odd.
I just changed Mhz to 357 in the reader configuration and restarted Oscam and it reset it to 500 again, very odd.

I've seen you ask this in another thread, your server has stopped, you need access to a new server, this is called card sharing and we do not discuss such things on the forum. Please google cccam card sharing.
