VU+solo2 Helios clone safe image

vusolo2-Helios.001 Backup image with old VU+ drivers dated 12/12/13.Image upto date as 21/04/14 Works fine on my genuine box but at the moment not tested on clone but should be good...
Has latest Rats bouquets lists plus some popular plugins.

In theory you should be able to update the image BUT NOT the drivers..so if you do think about an update first check what the updates are... but for me I would not attempt to update...do so at your own risk,

what happens if I attempt to do a software update through the box - would it let me? and would it replace drivers with originals - hence unsafe to do?

you heard that saying shit happens ,dont update if you do reflash again.

Thanks. Also, Would you say this is as safe as the VIX Clonesafe 3.808?
So if the clonesafe 808 went down, this would too, or is there a higher chance this would go down?

clone safe images are only clone safe until you update the drivers..as i said in the very first post.
clone safe 808 did not go down if it did then it was because the drivers were updated thus making it not clone safe.

depending on what image you have installed when you check for an update it searches then gives you a list of the updates and then a choice of what to do....unless you know your stuff you wont know what update is a driver and whats not..so just install a clone safe image and DO NOT UPDATE IT...

Ok. So the gist of it is, if the drivers are the same, your good to go.

Now, I was just flicking through the information of the box once updated to Clonesafe Helios and it says this:

Version: Helios
Build: 001
Kernel: 3.3.8
Drivers: 2014-04-03
Last Update: 2014-04-19

Surely the drivers date should not be so recent? Is this correct? Safe?

Further to my previous message, all I did was flash the helios clone safe image
1. put on empty usb
2. power on
3. press power button on front
4. wait for it to reboot
5. done

correct or not?

Just dont want the drivers to cause issues down the line mkaing them clone-unsafe

the drivers will say that date as that was what was installed before i swapped them..the drivers in the image are 12-12-13.Read the top page mate all info is there.
download-unzip-copy vusolo2 folder to usb-turn off box-insert usb-turn on box-when prompted on display touch power button-wait for box to reboot-remove usb-simples

You have clarified everything!

Thumbs up to AJT for his hard work and efforts to help people like me!

So, you're enabling clone users to use outdated drivers with broken transcode & other functions? for the sake of paying for a clone?

tried installing this image and got HW error? Gone back to vix748 now.

Any ideas?

Hi, its safe to make a backup after using vix manager , it aint gonna load in new drivers ? would be great if could remove the update menu all together so less risk someone running it !

Thanks

great been using this for past few days, only thing i noticed sometimes when coming out of standby, i have the HDMI CEC set so when i power on the box the tv comes on aswell and also turns it off when on standby so dont need to use tv remote

sometimes i get no sound, but when i go into audio settings and change source it comes back, is this a bug in the image ? , it doesn't happen all the time

Thanks

Hi AJT

I also get a HW Error. I am assuming it's because I couldn't get the update via com port 1 to work before.

How much would you charge to do the update on my vu+ Solo2 clone?

I live an hour away in Oxford, I could come over to you?

Cheers,

RTO
