After using fta many, many times i have opted for the xp ftp apporach. When dragging or copying image or channel files i receive this message.

"an error occured copting a file to the ftp server. Make sure you have permission to put these files onthe server.
details
200 switching to binary mode
227 entering passive mode(192.168.0.5.82.102.)
553 could not create file

On my first attempt I mannaged to paste 996 kb before being stopped. 30'ish attempts ago.

Any ideas guys?

If you filled the free space up to the last bit inside the flash writing or deleting is nomore possible.
Do an reflash.

not to sure what you mean as the whole point of what i am doing is to re-flash the box.

Have u entered the username=root password=dbox2
in the ftp login, before the transfer

If u already have done so ... then I would guess windows firewall is blocking.

Are you using FlashFXP ?
If so, its easy, go to site manager, put dbox2 info into site manager, connect to site (using right window for example) and in the left window find the dir on your pc with the files you wish to upload, highlight the files you wanna xfer and right click and select xfer:)
depending on your settings in FlashFXP, it will either overwrite the existing files on the dbox or it should ask you what you wish to do as the file exists:)

Some one please help!!!

downloaded flashFXP and followed your instructions and all the files failed to transfer?/

Some one please help!!!

You might be donig what I did wrong when I was new to it all.

Make sure you DELETE the file on the dbox BEFORE uploading the newer file. For some reason you cant overwrite a file, you have to delete it then upload it.

HTH

Thanks for the Q responce!

Do i delete on the p.c if so i have tried and you cannot delete any of the files that come up under the boxes i.p.

If its with the remote/tv then please advise where i find the option. K

Strange......If you have FlashFXP installed make sure of this:-

Goto Sites, Site manager,

Site Name: dbox (name this anything)
IP: IP of dbox2 (IP can be found by going into dbox2 settings, network)
User: root
Password: dbox2

Options Tab
Tick the following only:-
Send anti-idle keep alive
Send noop during transfer
Use APPE
Show hidden files
Passive mode
Use skiplist

Note** The username and password are different for different images, please advise of what image is installed at present time.

Hope this helps.....

Do you know the IP for your dbox2?

Try the above settings.......what do you get?

yep i changed it to 192.168.0.5 sice my pc could not comunicate with the ether card . Got address from beginners guide for ether guide.

something new. I now get the option to overwrite, i choose overwrite and then transfer failed again

Does it let you delete the service.xml from zapit folder?

pc screen......all this is done via the p.c with FlashFXP.
