Hi I wonfer if anyone can help!
Brother in law just got Nokia D box2 of ebay, in debug with latest sporster image on, problem is remote wont work!
Been reading threads and notice that it may be of in web interface menu.
But thats a problem cos I dont know IP address, so does anyone know a way round this, can you find the ip address another way?
Any Ideas?

im sure ip address is displayed when info regarding image is displayed on screen

Cheers mate
Just tried it with mine but the numbers dont match up to the Ip address, any more ideas?

Change the ip to the range you want in the network settings and restart the network.

Tell us extactly the image and version. It might be left at it's default network settings (quite likely as the seller hasn't had to put services and images on the box). From the image and version, someone on the forum might be able to let you know the network details - you might get lucky!!

Hi thanks for your replies!
The image is definatley sporster neutrino, i think it says 1.8 but not entirely sure, is there a 1.8???
The remote is an original remote and works on my box.
I will get back as soon as possible and comfirm the image version.
thanks for the help everybody!

Check if there is a file .newrc or .oldrc in /var/etc.
If yes delete that file and reboot your box.

Do I do that within bootmanager via serial cable?
Sorry still a bit of a newbie yet!

Ftp or telnet to the box and change to the sub folder /var/etc.
For telnet the userid is root.
then cd /var/etc
ls -a
rm .newrc

problem is the image

hi m8, had the same problem very recently, but in my case it was just the Nokia remote that did not work, universal remote and sagem remote worked fine. after a lot of searching, decided to change the image on the box to a known older working version and hey, presto, remote works fine again :D

don't know, but may be worth trying, good luck

Thanks for all the help,

found a bit of info on here about the ribbon cable from the front panel comming loose sometimes, so I informed the brother in law, he stripped it down and recoonected the ribbon and hey presto, It works!
Cheers!
