Hi,

I managed to get my dbox2 up ftf and running and aquired the correct 1 flash chip image of sportster. Having tried 2 ways of flashing this now I'm beginning to think it might have a damaged flash chip and need some seasoned users to confirm this for me.

If I ftp the file directly to the box and run the update from the expert service menu I get and erase fail message before it even begins.

If I use Flash Assistent (their spelling) It says flashing then DONE! after about 10 seconds which acording to the tuts is way too short a time (should be 15 mins.

Have I bought a duff box?

Thanks for reading

Yep; probably got damaged during the enabling of debug mode.
Had a few boxes sent to me like this - cant be repaired.

Only way to get them up and running is by booting an image stored on your hard drive over the network; and you have to leave your computer running the whole time that you want to watch TV.

is there any tutorial on how to do what you suggested?

is it possible the chip could have become write protected somehow, should there be a touching wire to the schreibschutz point on the board? I'm getting desperate here as you can probably tell
