hi all i have not had this problem before and has un-installed and re-installed several times now and my flash fxp isnt transfering my files to my dbox 2 it says transfer failed on the bottom right screen. i cant therefor load up my nagrarom7.bin file any ideas?

is there a way of telling if it went read only? i used dbox ifa if this helps?

if you try and over write a file when ftpn it will fail. You can delete by using telnet then ftp the new file. or just re flash

files overwrite done it loads of times, saves having to change the permissions...they may not if the image is full or nearly full, u can chk this in tuxbox commander /bin/ df or telnet >df

My img went read only and it would not allow me to overwrite or delete files while using fxp, i had to telnet the box and remove the file, then allowing me to add in the updated rom.

maybe the img was close to being 'full' try it with an img with less than 95% usage

would that stop you from deleting the file? I had the same problem on a old dream plus ultra on my Dm500c. every time I tried to delete It just would not remove the file from the box

try changing your network card setting from full duplex to 10M half duplex

couldnt you get the box to display the "klein system" somehow and then using IFA to flash a new image to it,like C11.?

if the img goes 'read-only' u would not be able to delete files either.....a reflash of the orig img should sort it though

Right I am lost now lol, I was replying to the guy asking how can HE COULD tell if the img has went read only, I stated that If he was unable to overwrite files or delete while in flashfxp then its probably gone write protected, and he could use telnet to remove or overwrtie it, then add the file by ftp.

But as you say a relash would solve this problem.
