i, I have a problem with me car in that the passenger door won't open using the outside handle.

opens fine using the inside handle and locks/unlocks ok, so i need to remove the door card to have a look, see if its summit easy to fix...

i have no idea how to remove the door card without destroying it lol
so i'm looking for tips/ pointers on how to do this.

the car is a 2003 Vectra, here are a few pictures of the door.

TIA

just found this vauxhall vectra door card removal

1) behind the small speaker grill
2) behind the cover for the electric mirror switch, (if you don't have one it'll be a blank and look a bit like an elec. window switch)
3) prise off the plastic cover from the interior door handle grip, (it feels slightly rubbery this, give it a twist.) There'll be a screw behind this at the bottom
4) 3 screws along the bottom of the door card

-You may need to remove the tringular shaped bit of plastic by the wing mirror too
-Don't forget to un-clip the speakers!
-When you pull the card off there are some plastic clips that 'un-clip' when you pull. On mine these were quite stiff so worth remembering if you're struggeling to get it off.
-Behind the door card is a plastic membrane, try not to tear this if you need to un-peel it.

cheers guys, i been looking on youtube for a video tut,
surprisingly there doesn't appear to be one for this type of door...
@wiz569 on that tut you posted it says fastners have to be replaced.. :(
I assume the clips break when the panel is removed..

that being the case i might leave well alone lol

If your careful they wont break m8,but you can buy replacements easily m8

yip the clips sometimes break but there about 10p each

will be 4 or 5 but not all will snap just take your time doing it as its not hard
takes from else where

1. Remove the door card (think there's a guide on here somewhere which might have pictures but..)
-a: Remove the 3 torx screws from along the bottom of the door card
-b: Unclip the sorround from the inside handle, remove the 2 torx screws underneath
-c: To be safe, make sure the window is down, pop the drivers door control unit out and undo the wiring
-d: Use a bit of force to pull the plastic clips free of their housing, you can get a tool to do this but most people wont have it. Start from the bottom on 1 side then the other, lift the door card up and out of the window channel.

Reconnect the drivers door module and put the window back up.

You should now be looking at the door liner, peel this back next to the outer edge of the door (right, if you're doing the drivers door)

Inside to the right you'll see a plastic casing (was white on mine, may vary?) This is held in place by 2 torx screws, remove these and take the plastic casing off, its a bit of an a**e to get out as it's a tight space.

Now you can see the problem linkage/bar - you'll notice it's threaded at the bottom and is screwed into a little white plastic box.

At the top of this bar is a little clip, pop the clip off by pushing it back and then pull the bar out of the hole (pull right if doing drivers door)

You can now turn the rod to tighten or loosen it, if your handle is pulling all the way out but not opening the door, you want to UNscrew the bar (rotate counter clockwise), this will have the effect of pushing the white box further down, it only took a few turns for me, it may require more or less for you.

Pop the bar back into the hole and reclip it at the top, close and reopen the door a few times to make sure it's working, if not, adjust the bar further, if it is, re-assemble in reverse order of above

theres ten in the pack, so should be good with that..

will wait till they come before tinkering.. :)

While you're waiting pick up a few plastic wedges (DIY, flooring). Use these to pop the clips and you'll minimise any breakages, one either side of a clip and as close as possible.
