i have peugoet 207 2008 car which started giving me problems the thing is the car would start and run fine then if it sat a while when i tried to start it it would not start left it into a mechanic he put it on the diagnostick machine came up no problems so i got him to do a full service and change spark plugs its be going fine for 5 weeks then got in to it last nite and it wouldnt start tried it this morning and it started the wife then drove out in to the street and it stopped and wouldnt start justed tried to start it there now and it will turn over but wont start dash lights all come on battery ok anybody any ideas

the 207 does have problems with water in the bsi computer , the fuse box under the bonnet , theres 3 large wire connecters and the middle one gets water in , u can remove all 3 and the worse thing that happens to the car is u lose the time on the clock if its not that , if u remove the middle one and theres water and green puss in it then u have to replace the temp sensor or washer pump motor as the water it forced down the wires into the bsi

might have nothing to do with your problem tho lol .. could be a crack sensor

now its not starting is good news , now they can do a live data test and see if theres cranking speed and fuel pressure , intermediate faults are the hardest to find

also bud when im driving sometimes there is like a burning smell would this be a pointer to any the problems ps just went to car started first time doing my head in

update brought car to different mechanic found that some sensor thing needed replaced so did that car worked for 2 days then on friday morning didnt start brought car back to him and comes up no faults on his machine got tow start yesterday morning was in out all day car started np then up this morning wont start as of yet car has not been put on diagnostic machine when it wont start mechanic said the faults should be logged in memory seem to be when its sitting overnight doing my head in

l wouldnt read codes straight away ( in case it start ) , l would do a live data read first , check if the engine has a rpm signal , fuel pressure and cam sensor + a few more , no rpm = crank sensor , no fuel pressure = fuel pump ,

do u take the connecter out of the fuse box like l said before

miA4QaTO7r8s59inqHJZ-wg.jpg , on the fuse box on the right hand side theres 3 large connectors , unclip them and see if any waters in the middle one , if there is u cant clean with a rag as the pins will bend , if theres water in it needs removing and drying out or replacing , then u have to find out why theres water in there

u will lose settings on clock , might not be this but l always check as its common and causing lots of different fault , normally abs , fan stops working and so on

ok, at lease u know now , can u hear the fuel pump in the tank when u turn ignition on ?

Bud i wouldn't no what it sounds like there is a mechanic down the road I will drive the car down tonite cause in morning it probley won't start and ask him to put diagnostic machine on to see if it logs any faults that bud for all your help bud as I say I don't no much bout cars m8

ok , also ask him to check temp sensor reading to , if there faulty they can make car over fuel or under fuel and choke with not come on in the morning as the car thinks its warm

if its only a problem u get in the morning l would make sure the battery is 100% ok . ie charge or use jump leads in the morning before to try and start ,

Left in to my 3rd mechanic he said what you said yesterday the heat sensor as it thinks engine is warm fingers crossed he can solve the problem its getting to me
