I changed my egr valve this morning, cleaned my MAF & MAP sensors because of performance issues. I was told to disconnect the battery while doing this. I reconnected the battery and now the key wont even turn. HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP.

Check the wiring going to the fuse box phezo one of them could be broke you will need to peel back the outer cable shield to view them. Is the battery good?. or its possible a blown/faulty relay all of these need checking to eliminate problems. Do you have a spare key fob to try?.

cheers for the reply miggy, I don't have a spare key.It only came with 1. I only got the car about 4 weeks ago. Its been nothing but trouble. I am currently charging another known good battery and will try again in the morning. the father in law has the same car and he put it in to get a sunroof done 3 weeks ago. it is still there. apparently the cim has gone and the guy is waiting on a replacement and someone to recode it. if the battery doesn't work i'll check the cables, fuses, etc tomorrow after work.

Good man phezo all of my options are a possibility. Good luck with it and keep us posted.

UPDATE. Charged the battery overnight and tried it this morning, roughly 13 hour charge. Still no joy. Tried holding the open key for a minute whilst the key was in the ignition still the same. The father in law phones me at work and says he is going to look at it, roughly 11.00am. My phone goes about 11.05am. he's only gone and fixed it. YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. The only thing he done different from me was whilst the door was open he pressed the open and close buttons a few times. Since cleaning the egr, maf and map my car is back to its best. will try the throttle body next, (as long as I don't need to disconnect the battery, lol).
