any one got any info on using a Gunson,s Tackostrobe timing light , its an old one green in colour it has a wheel on the side for setting the RPM for use with the timing light ...any help please

blimey thats an old model you are trying to user:proud:the wierd spring attaches to the spark plug and the other end to plug lead on no 1 cylinder,on left of the gun is a clear prism where you attached the cut out from box casing like a graph when the tick over and timing is correct the prism throws out a line to match up on graph that is inserted into the slot, this tool was used on cars with points and condensers from the dodo period, not on the new cars with electronic ignition:Clap:

Yes I need to use it on my 1959 Austin A35 van, on the side of the gun there is a wheel that moves a marker, that some how is to do with the RPM and also shows a LOW Mid abd High any idear what I should set this to? please .........thanks for the first bit if info

never really got into that one as it is used from mains power, set it to low for tick over timing, other cars may need timing at 3000 rpm which would be mid way,if you have a multi meter set tick over and adjust timing and recheck timing
as far as i know the wheel will have no bearing in timing adjustment not like the other model the super strobe which can alter timing by turning the dial:proud:
