Spoke to someone who works for jaguar and he said that they failed to sell a single car in the month of December to a UK customer - every sale near enough went to china

also they are transferring many staff to the solihull based land rover and are cutting off all the temp staff

signs of the recession biting back imo - tbh it never went away in the first place

thought u might wanna hear it here before the papers get wind of it

Might be a sign but it also might have something to do with lots of the country being crippled by a bit of snow. What kind of UK sales do they usually report for the month of December?

i would say more then one, Dont forget they often build cars even if they arint needed. its all to do with yeilds. when i worked for fords they would build 1500 cars a day. most to order, and they closed the plant because we didnt make enough profit.

And dont forget one of the jag plants is a ex-ford site.

Like most companies they don't base their sales figures on just 1 month in just 1 place. They normally look at least each quarter year and they look at the overall sales in every location.

Also Jaguar are probably still getting to grips with the company changing hands.

They were doing better in august than other car companies, the nest figures will be January.

Car maker Jaguar Land Rover has seen an increase in August sales according to new figures.

Jaguar registrations for August 2010 were up nearly 11 per cent on the same month last year.

Meanwhile Land Rover's registrations have risen by almost two per cent year on year.

Reaction to figures

Reflecting on Jaguar Land Rover's latest figures, Professor Bailey said "they're selling the right cars and they're appealing to buyers both in the UK but also internationally so [there is] big growth in places like China as well."

Geoff Cousins, Managing Director of Jaguar UK said: "While August is traditionally a quieter month for car sales in the UK, we have had our busiest August for two years. "

"We are certainly seeing strong evidence of consumer confidence bouncing back," he added.

The Jaguar X-Type was a compact executive car launched in 2001, while the company was under Ford ownership. Sharing its platform with a 2000 Ford Mondeo, the X-Type lasted just one generation. The model ceased production in 2009 and is expected to be sold through the 2010 model year in its remaining markets

The X-Type is a compact executive car which was produced between 2001 and 2009 by Jaguar. It was the smallest of the range of Jaguar saloons, and included the only estate model in the Jaguar range. It was produced at the Halewood assembly facility near Liverpool,[2] a Jaguar Land Rover plant which also produces the Land Rover Freelander.

The Jaguar S-Type, which first appeared in 1999 and stopped production in 2008, was a retro version of Jaguar's beloved Mark series saloon of the 1960s. It was built on Ford DEW98 platform, which was shared by the retro Ford Thunderbird and the Lincoln LS. It has now been replaced by the Jaguar XF. Early S-Types suffered from reliability problems but those were mostly resolved by the 2004 model year.

The S-Type was produced at Jaguar's Castle Bromwich facility in Birmingham, England.

The Jaguar XF is a mid-size executive car that was introduced in 2008 to replace the out-going S-Type in the company's line-up. The basic sub-structure of the XF has been carried over from the S-Type, although the body has been stretched to meet crash safety requirements, and heightened to provide additional headroom while still retaining the "saloon within a coupé" proportions. The suspension and mountings are the same as that used on the XK, while the engine line-up is basically similar to that used in the S-Type.

Your "Ford Mondeo" statement referred to the Jaguar X-type which is no longer in production. It was produced in Halewood, England.

So your post:
A jag is a ford mondeo thats made in germany , so it not that british
is incorrect.

zad's post was quite in order.

The Jag's, all of them, were assembled in the UK.

None of the Mondeo's were assembled in Germany, but they were not assembled in the uk.
