will cost a minimum of £350
you have to pay for the number + vat
then pay a fee to transfer the number
if you do all the paper work yourself you will save money if not they charge about £60 for the paperwork
you have to send them a copy of your tax disc
the log sheet
and the mot
they will send you replacements in the post and also a form to go get a set of plates which you pay for

its £80 quid mate

dont forget to tell ya insurance, i made that mistake!!!!

buy your number from the place and they will send you certificates and that with it, inform the dvla and they will request the cert, tax disc and log book so they can change the details, they will also ask for a cheque for £80

once you recieve your new log book put your plates on and tax disc in. they should send you plates from were you buy the registration number form!

yes everytime you want to change it it costs £80. the insurance may charge £20 for admin fees.

if you dont put it on in a certain amount of months you need to put it on retention so you dont lose the plate registration number, but if your doing a swap staright away you dont need to worry about retention!

And if you don't put it on a car it cost you £35 a year to keep it on retention or DVLA will take back

that is CRAZY LOLLLL thanks for that, always learn something new on DW gotta say.

any ideas if i can kinda customise the plate on the dvla site, like i want a GB sign and a border, and maybe small writing on the bottom of the plate etc.

thanks again

you can put a flag on it and border but new laws stop you customising the small writing.

They send you a certificate that gives you 2 weeks to get the plates made up your self at halfords etc

I think there is only 3 styles of font you can use as all the fancy styles are illegal and will get knocked back for you MOT.

I have a bog standard set I put on once a year for the MOT and rest of the time is a set I bought online that are sold as SHOW PLATES

thanks for that, any ideas on space, like for example if i want AB12 CDF

can it be like A B 1 2 C D F, just an example lol, only thing is my car is 03 and my plate is starting with T so i am thinking it will make it look older lol,

and does the dvla charge include the actual plate, or only ownership and transfer and we have to go out to get the plate?

thanks

Type in show plates in google and it will bring up several sites that you can customise your plates.

As long as you dont choose too outrageous a font the local plod don't normally pull you unless you drive like a prat lol

mines o3 and starts with s, it wont look older, mine has 5 letters so mine is like this ab cde. if anything people think mine is nearly new. like whats been said, get legal plates then if you want it different get show plates but you may get a pull and a fine! see if you like it with standard way first. just use the double sided sticky pads, forget the screws.
