i dont use hot water, use cold or barely warm.

maybe its modern engines i dont have a clue about then, i used to be able to recognise stuff on my last couple of cars!

little trick i do is i always reverse up to my garage door when i come in at night,if it is frozen the next day as i have electric heater sitting on back seat i just hook up electrical extension to it and close door,have my breakfast and when i go to car its warm and dry and all windows clear handy for driving,never use wipers for clearing ice or snow as crap happens and left with no working wipers,also wipers may freeze to screen.:grab:

only thing i can suggest is a high-viz bib in the boot you can see them for miles well worth the few quid
