ive got it going on oscam but all my cccam stuff is still in there everytime i delete it i lose everything

i would like to goto commando 14.6 oscam only
ive downloaded oscam-svn6642-powerpc-tuxbox-old-webif-Distribution.tar.gz hope this is the right one

i all so have a vuduo which i watch tv on in the house
my vu was updating the card before when on cccam not sure if it is now though
a tm500 which my daughter has in her bedroom
my brother and sister have dm500s which are using cccam
i would like to keep the sever dm500 as a viewing box aswell just seems to go blank when i try something

would someone mind looking at my cccam.cfg - oscam.conf - oscam.server - oscam.user files to see where im going wrong im nearly there but something not quite right ive read and read and been at this 3 days now everytime i look at peoples configs theres something different in them

cccam.cfg i thought i could get rid when on oscam only but not sure where n line goes to link family on cccam

also is there a script or plugin i can use to put box into standy after restart that the reason i wanted darkstar2 as this worked great

Did you extract the oscam bin file from the .tar.gz?

You will need to enable dvbapi in your oscam.conf,and put a dvbapi account in oscam.user if you want to be able to view on the server box

Hello mate, have a look here at post #17 https://www.digitalworldz.co.uk/index.php?threads/292054/
This gives a guide how to set up a dm500 as a server using oscam, the only thing not included is how to install oscam in the right directory but I'm sure others will give you some advice on that.
You can use the timer function on commando to schedule the box to go into standby.

I have oscam running only on a Vu+ Duo (server) and don't have a specific dvbapi account in oscam.user and I can view channels fine....

I'm still new to all this and sure there's a reason why a dvbapi account in oscam.user is needed.

You can view channels on your server box without a dvbapi account?

Maybe you only need to enable it in oscam.conf so,

I'm very new to oscam myself so might get some things wrong :)

Im using s dm800se with digitalworldz image as a server, I've disabled dvbapi through webif and I can still view channels.

Here's my configs, the only changes are the x's to hide private info.

I'm wondering if dvbapi is actually still operating even though I'v disabled it in webif?
Everything seems to be running ok although I'm not sure about updating entitlements with this set up yet.

You havent disabled it m8

You have it set to
[dvbapi]
enabled = 1

Its just the username you have commented out,so its probably still running

Ta mate,
I thought so, if I want to disable it do I just put a # in front of enabled = 1?
What does dvbapi actually do? I understand Oscam reads and shares the card, cccam protocol enabled lets Oscam work with cccam? Where does dvbapi fit in?

Mine config is identical to yours but why have you got 2 readers in oscam server? see mine below.

Code:
You don't have permission to view the code content. Log in or register now.

I thought you would only need 2 readers if you were using both card slots e.g.

group = 1
device = /dev/sci0

group = 2
device = /dev/sci1

Then in oscam user you can select which client has access to each card
group = 1 (slot 1)
group = 2 (slot 2)
group = 1,2 (slot 1 & 2)
oscam user

[account]
user = xxxxx
pwd = xxxxx
group = 1,2
uniq = 1
caid = 0963
ident = 0963:000000

pwd = xxxxx
group = 1,2
uniq = 1
caid = 0963
ident = 0963:000000
au = 1

group = 1,2 (You have set your friends/family to share card slot 1 and 2)
au = 1 (all your clients are set to send you EMM)

see mine below

Code:
You don't have permission to view the code content. Log in or register now.

In dvbapi I have au = 1 so I can update entitlements (EMM) myself as server is connected to dish

Don't know why I have 2 readers in oscam server mate, I downloaded Oscam from TSPanel and it came with pre set configs, I didn't change anything at all in Oscam Server. I'm only using 1 card so I think it'll be ok.
The au = setting has me a tad confused, if I leave it blank like yours does that mean I update entitlements through my server(it is connected to a dish). My clients are also connected to their own dish but they don't have a card, I'd like to understand this a bit better.

Gonna have a crack at this tommorrow off to work now
in your oscam user config accounts i see you have all yours set to au = 1
i thought you only need 1 of them to au i was hoping my vudu would do this
also do i need the whitelist

check back tomorrow mate, investigations continue....

In my Oscam user config all my users are set as au =

Found the below if it helps
AU settings:
au = [label of reader] # sending EMMs to specified reader (security issue: clients can see SC data!)
au = 1 # auto AU is sending EMMs to all readers (security issue: clients can see SC data!)

Default:
au = [blank] # none

Mine config is identical to yours but why have you got 2 readers in oscam server

The second and any subsequent readers are outside shares :)

Just the 1 to a zero :)

But you won't be able to view on that box then,I tested it on mine ;)

I've disabled dvbapi through webif and I can still view channels.

If changes are made in webif you must restart oscam.

Like wiz I tried it this morning and could not view channels on server. So a dvbapi account is not requited in oscam user but dvbapi must be enabled

Thanks guys.
Let's see if I can get the au setting straight in my head.
au stands for auto update which keeps my card alive by receiving entitlements through EMM's. If I want my server with my card to receive EMM and update entitlements I set au = 1 in Dvbapi. If I wanted to receive EMM through my clients I should set au = 1 in the chosen account in Oscam User. If I don't want to receive EMM from clients I set all accounts to au = 0 or leave it blank?
At the minute I have both dvbapi and user accounts set to au = 1, I'm not sure if this set up has actually updated entitlements because they are currently valid for another couple of months. I'll probably change the user accounts to au = 0.
What do you think? Have I got this right?
