Parallel Port

Guys,

It has been a while since i mucked around with these and so I don't have the hardware any more. I have bought a PCI parallel port but when I have the Blackcat connected the software telling me its not connected. is this port ok or do I have to change settings..? I cant for the life of me remember...

What OS are you using? There are often problems with Windows 7 and parallel ports but you might be able to run a virtual XP machine and use it.

Using XP anyway

Not sure if the interface will do anything by itself, you probably need to connect a modem to it.

Driver might not work with them, seen a few problems with PCI parallel.

Can you see its installed alright in device manager? Can you change the LPT in the software or .ini file if there is one?

yes to all them as well mate. I actually have sigma x2 installed but for some reason it wont update thru tftp which is why i was trying the old blackcat cable. i have found pin outs for rs232 so i may need to have a go at that way. strange how it wont boot over with tftp anyway

The software might be looking for LPT0 but I think PCI cards default to LPT1, might be wrong but try and change that in the software if possible.

What address is the software looking for?

Need to get your software to look on LPT1. Different modes might be interesting too.

I have not had a chance to look at it again but it's still baffling me that it won't flash thru http page

Dig an ancient PC out it will be less pain .
