Hi Guys
we have had to remove a few Affiliate Links from siggys recently for GiffGaff users

just a reminder about Affiliate Linking

:)

Guilty without realising in my case it certainly wasn't on purpose, didn't even know what it meant and in fairness still don't, as such I'll post no more links regardless.

I think links can be very useful to members. It's more a matter of being careful - general links as sources are usually okay. Posting a link that is advertising may be a problem - I would advise you simply ask a Mod or Admin if you are not sure.

Contrary to popular belief, Mod/Admin shots are not normally fatal :)

It's the links that earn the poster a credit of some sort that are the real problem.

They are being posted for personal gain rather than the interests of DW members.

Affiliate links are links that generate money for the poster.

To take the Groupon example you get £6 for each "conversion". A conversion being a when someone clicks a through link and makes a purchase.

@vicnholly as others have advised, please don't stop posting links. We all like a bargain or to get in on something quick so if you are unsure on one just pm a mod.
