I'm a Virgin Media Customer, I phoned up an upgrade to 10 Meg from 2 Meg, I reset my modem and wala 10 Meg Broadband, the next day I downgraded to 2 Meg BUT I didnt reset my modem, and still had 10 Meg for 8 hours today but I kicked the extention and everything connected switched off :(, I should of had the modem connected into it's own socket in the wall lol, but hey 10 Meg for the price of 2 Meg not bad lol, ill do it again l8r, anyone else going to do it? : laalaa :

i was reading on cableforums that VM are suppose to be doubling everybodys speed for nothing before the end of may IIRC

Normally when you upgrade you have to stay on that new speed for a month before you can downgrade again. Im on 10mg and from the 1st of may they are upgrading me to 20mg for an extra £2. At the mo im only paying £17.50 for 10mg and from may it will go to £19.50. Rang up and got a 6mth deal.

I've got a retentions deal of £12.50 per month for 9 months (1/2 price plus additional £5 off per month) for 10mb.

First bill arrived the other day - they tried to charge me the full £35! Cheeky beggars. Straight on the phone and the guy in the Sheffield call centre sorted it as there were notes on my account.

20mb coming soon - got the letter yesterday. Will they automatically start charging me £14.50?

I must be rubbish at haggling. I rang up and complained about my speeds on my 10 meg service. Got my bill reduced to 50 quid for the tv supreme/phone and 10 meg internet.

you should change the title of this thread to 2mb broadband for the price of 10mb.

thats the way it has turned out since they introduced traffic shaping. my 10mb line has been running like a 2mb line all week.

just a quick point i tried the method of telling them i was leaving and ended up with a disconnection date !!! but when i rang back and got a different guy on the phone who offered me 10meg for 12 mths for £17-50 the deallast for 3mths at a time but he sets it up each time so not had to call back so if at first u don`t get any joy hang up dial again and try a different operator ( depends wat mood the twats are in lol )

My sister in-law phoned yesterday and ended up paying them a £1 more a month for free evening and weekend calls lol, she has tv.2meg bb, and phone with them her brother is phoning back on monday

They will just give you disconnection date but someone will phone you up saying that why you are leaving them then you got to tell the reasonwhy are you leaving them. they told me the same thing and gave a disconnection date too after three days got a call from telewest saying what they can offer me for not leaving them.

It's worth keeping a close tab of your bills after you agree something with them. I have noticed some odd charges that come through. However, you have to ring them up and the will rectify and refund you them BUT you have to keep an eye on it !!!!

i rang them up 3 months ago and told them i was sick of ther bb servies speeds running slow and that i had looked at talk talk free phone calls 24 hours to uk numbers and up to 8 meg bb ( up to being the word here ) for £24.00 per month , they said that i could have
4meg and free talk 24 unlimited for £24.00 for 12 months ( but you can only get good deals when you get put through to coustemer retentions )

i'll be calling the customer retension department before they have even installed as been waiting nearly 2 months

I have phone line, supreme TV and 10 meg for £31 per month! - had to speak to a big cheese in disconnections to get that one sorted, essentially they said 4 meg and promised a free upgrade in may - as it didnt happen I got them to do it for me: multi :
