hey all

im looking for a new telly to hook my duo and ps4 up to to get proper benefit out them :p

ive been looking all day at various sites but didnt realise there was soooo many options

all i want is a 60" Full 1080p HD 3D smart tv with all the apps etc and optical output for my soundbar :)

what makes do you guys recommend as the reviews are mixed for both samsung and LG

TIA

I can't comment on the specifications that you are after, but I will say that I have had an LG 42" HD LED TV since 2008 and never had a problem with it and the picture quality on it is still as good today as when I bought the TV.

Having had a Panasonic 42 and 2 Sammys 1 50 plasma and now a 51 plasma smart the Sammy plasma smart blows anything else out the water imho

whats the script with plasma

all those rumours years ago about having to get them refilled with gas etc put me off, i really like the look of the LED tvs and think the picture quality is superior...trip to currys to see them in action tomorrow me thinks

thanks for the replies chaps!

Plasma has moved on big time since it was launched and the picture quality and viewing angles cant be beaten especialy if your ar using it for gaming and fast action stuff. Led is good but not as good as plasma. The modern plasma will not give image retention as it has pixel shift features etc

personally would avoid LG

but thats due to the fact two plasma units died both 50in

first died it got replaced under warranty same again second died just out of warranty

have a samsung 51in 3d plasma now & cant fault it

**** lg get a panasonic

but why are plazzys so cheap now, i only ask as in the market for meself this week?
My wish list as follows:
1-47/50"
2-dual core
3-freesat hd
4-freeview hd
not to bothered about the "smart" bit, but spose the catch up/on demand would be usefull
any recomends out there, regards all TL.

I hate my samsung 46" 3d tv the reflections on screen make it impossible to view from most angles in fact unless you sit directly in front of it the reflections are really bad so my recommendation is to go for a non reflective screen

You make a very valid point mate, mine is very reflective too, although i overlooked this anyway because the telly is in my bedroom and only really used at night so its not a problem to me. I also have a sammy 46 in my living room and dont notice it much in there either because my tv faces away from any windows or direct light, but it did take me a while to find the sweet point of a nice viewing angle, but certainly something to consider when buying any tv these days as none are truely non reflective.
