i need help guys........

just bought this to play files through my projector. (annoyed with caviava) i have video but no sound. problem is when hooking up an external usb hard drive with hdmi i have no sound. i use a surround sound for sound & it normally works ok, ie when using ps3 i just hook up the surround to the optical & all is ok. problem with the cyclone is i use hdmi for pic (direct into projector) projector doesnt have sound so use aux on my surround system.

problem is no sound

any ideas please......

According to the Sumvision site the Cyclone 2 only has HDMI and Composite outputs. If the RCA stereo audio outputs don't work with the HDMI video output, and your surround system doesn't have HDMI throughput, then there is nothing you will be able to do without further expense... (i.e. buying an amp that has HDMI throughput, or an HDMI audio/video splitter)

If you are in the UK, ordered online and from a business (rather than a private seller on ebay) you get 7 days, starting the day after receipt, to return the product under the Distance Selling Regulations. You'll be liable for return postage, but are entitled to a full refund including outbound postage. Restocking and "admin" fees are illegal under DSR.

For around £55 you can get the Sumvision Cyclone Live. However, I'd prefer to recommend something like the £139 Popcorn Hour PopBox 3D as I know there is much better aftermarket support...

cheers for the info...... i did get it to work using just the composite outputs but was a bit messy. ie yellow into video on projector and red white into surround. I had to set the cyclone to pal though & pic wasnt that great.

the media player is great when just connecting into the tv with hdmi though.

yes my surround system is a bit dated, just has 1*aux, 1*coax & 1*optical.

I am thinking of buying a blu ray player with usb & stereo support to connect upto the projector. Im just trying to get around the cinavia problems really.

cheers

Steve....

Image probably won't be good over composite as it's a standard def connection.

I'm not sure if there is a way round Cinavia at the moment. The audio "watermark" is designed to persist even after re-recording :(
