hi I have an iphone 3g its stuck on restore loop , I have tried many methods to get out of this , is it possible or is it just a brick now.
the phone was jailbroken , and then an attempt to upgrade left it stuck with the usb picture on the screen , I have no idea what base band it is, best I can do is get it into pwned dfu mode but have no idea what to do next.
I have tried tinyumbreller but no luck
any thoughts please

Found this mate

Delete the *.ipsw file on your computer

Mac OS X

~/Library/iTunes/iPhone Software Updates

Windows XP

C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Update

Windows Vista/7

C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates

then delete the contents of the iPhone Software Updates folder

Sent from me phone :)

My guess is mate if u have used tinyumbrella then that could be ur prob maybe. you see it changes ur host file u just need to change it
A Modified Hosts File Can Cause Error 3194

How to Fix Hosts file on Windows

Go to C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc
Copy the "hosts" file to your desktop
Open it using Notepad.
Look for the entry: 74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com and change it to # 74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com
If you can't edit the Hosts file from the above location, copy the Hosts file to your desktop and open it and edit using notepad and save it. You should take care not to save it as a text file instead of the Hosts file. Just delete the .txt extension after the Hosts file when saving it. Then copy the new Hosts file and paste it in the true location of the Hosts file. You will be asked to replace the original Hosts file, you need to click "yes" to allow the replacement.
